  2. Yikes… these stories read exactly like the ones my friend would post when they were in an extremely controlling relationship. Him doing all of this while his family has mostly stayed silent and not turned it into a public spectacle is a huge red flag imo. It’s further taking the step to isolate and disown the family not even in a private sense, but in the public eye and media. Honestly though, with what a huge nepo baby experience he has lived im not shocked. He has had more “careers” than most people have dreams and he always started them from the top of the chain due to his family - im not saying it’s the Beckhams “fault” but… even from years ago it seemed like this would be the path he’d end up sooner or later.

  6. Former prime minister Justin Trudeau spoke about the importance of soft power and a human-centred approach in geopolitics Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He was joined by his partner and pop star Katy Perry, who sat in the front row, giving a warm smile when Trudeau talked about Canada not meddling in other states’ affairs to take oil. Trudeau called Ukraine’s strong stand against Russia’s invasion “soft power in action,” and said Canada’s solidarity with Ukraine underscores a commitment to an international rules-based order. “Never underestimate the resolve, the motivation and strength of people standing up to defend their sovereignty, their identity, their very existence,” he said. Trudeau recounted how Canada has pushed for free trade through a human-centred approach that focuses on elevating environmental protection, labour standards and women’s equality. source

  8. We are talking about the billionaire Peltz family that’s the reason we have the whitewashed Avatar The Last Airbender movie. Or the countless stories of Nicola terrorizing her nanny’s the and pushing one of them down stairs. She is hated by most of Hollywood for how downright evil people say she is - Bella Thorne even all but named her as the person she avoids the most. Her father introduced Trump and Elon and they are deeply MAGA. Her father also spoke against “The Marvels” and “Black Panther” as an investor in Disney due to their female and black led casts. Nicola and her family were sued by the wedding planners of her and Brooklyns family. Honestly just an evil family by all accounts.

  11. I feel like Pitchfork has fully evolved into the kind of establishment it once mocked. What started as an outsider voice challenging old music media now feels like a gatekeeping platform, where critics act culturally superior and decide what music is “worthy” of attention. Pop music is especially dismissed unless it can be framed as ironic, intellectual, or whatever. Putting reviews behind a paywall is the final nail in the coffin. Reviews were Pitchfork’s core contribution and the reason people showed up in the first place. Locking them away doesn’t elevate criticism. It just confirms the elitism.

  14. Disagree. This is not American Music Awards. Performing at the Grammy Awards does not guarantee a win. While there is a strong correlation between performing and winning often described as having a 50% chance or better, it is not a guarantee. Beyonce won without performing last year, neither Lana Del Rey, Steely Dan, and more.

  18. agree. although i'm not japanese, as an asian i don't see this as an issue even not feel offended. sushi is a cultural product and national dish of japan, using 🍣 is one of the most fitting emoji symbol which could represent japan.

  19. How is using an emoji depicting a Japanese food in a post about Japan problematic? Do you take offence to this hypothetical scenario? I wouldn’t care if she used a prawn emoji in a post promoting her Australia dates. Does any of this really matter? Who is being harmed by this?

  20. I really love how soft her voice is here. She's great at belting but she doesn't need it to deliver a great vocal performance.

  33. She's for sure paid for time and time again. Truly the economic queen of the dollar. Shame money doesn't translate to impact 'cause I can only name one artist that's cited Taylor as an influence and Taylor bullied, targeted, and I think even sued her 'cause she's a spiteful, greedy freak Meanwhile, how many dozens, HUNDREDS of artists have said Beyoncé inspired them? How many of Gaga's peers look to her as the peak of artistic genius? Taylor's nothing but a wallet tbh. Propped up on undeserved hype by weird fans who fall for her predatory marketing every time she has a voice memo of her "singing" to sell them.

  35. Mayhem deserves album of the year, she finally gave critics and fans alike what they want, she went back to her old sound with a modern evolution, she made a brilliantly produced record, she’s literally the lead writer AND producer on every song, all her influences are there, her vocals shine so much because it’s the only album where her voice is so unedited it sounds the same live. It’s her highest acclaimed album and it was a cultural moment beyond just the music; Her record breaking hit DWAS demolished record after record, Abracadabra being the closest song she’s ever made to Bad Romance (the song her critics long for her to redo essentially), Copacabana’s record breaking show, her and Bruno where THE Halloween costumes of 2024. There’s no reality where culturally Mayhem and Abracadabra dont DESERVE wins in the big 3 I’m sorry. I get the Grammys are on eggshells because people will complain a white lady beat out a black man and a Hispanic man, but I’m sorry is the GRAMMYs about the actual music and it’s culture or is it about the US because that’s all it’s feeling like now. Making wins based on US artists, US politics and US popular culture. Kendrick and BB haven’t been on world tours selling out stadiums worldwide, they haven’t had a career that’s still going strong 2 decades in almost. Like people don’t understand how much of a feat it is for a woman in pop to have a #1 single or album almost 20 years into your career without re-releasing old hits or being a sell out. Gaga is like one of the 4 women in pop to EVER do it alongside Madonna, Cher and Beyoncé
