Who Will Win? Lady Gaga, Mayhem Gaga scored three consecutive Album of the Year nominations beginning in 2010 with The Fame, followed up by The Fame Monster the next year, and Born This Way in 2012. But more than a decade later, she has experience on her side now, not to mention a stunner of an LP in Mayhem. “Lady Gaga always feels like a strong contender for this category,” says John Stein, head of North America Editorial at Spotify. “And [her being a] household name helps here.” Mayhem may actually benefit from the competition too, Stein says: “I think it might win based on vote splitting.” Link for the full article here: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/grammys-2026-album-of-the-year-predictions-nominees-1235441589/ The last time Rolling Stone got the right prediction was for Folklore, 2021.40 points

Musically speaking, there is no better option to win this year. MAYHEM is a triumph and a pure celebration of so many musical genres. Her best work to date in my opinion.40 points

It's comical how determined most of you are to hate on her.17 points

"If it's the first week of my album release and if you're saying either my name or my album title, you're helping" Narcissistic of her to say. I usually give her benefit of the doubt cuz I am a fan, but this album is really not it. This behavior will soon backlash for her. I hope she just takes the criticism like an adult and makes a better album. Or prolly elevate her artistry.17 points

She gets her pússy ate by the public 99% of the time, even when she’s churning out mid-quality music, so it’s about time she got a little bit humbled by the masses tbh17 points

Lately, it feels like every move Taylor Swift makes gets picked apart. Don’t get me wrong, she’s the most successful artist in the world, so public attention comes with the territory. But sometimes it feels like people go out of their way to criticize her for things that wouldn’t even make headlines if it were someone else. I’m not necessarily saying she’s beyond criticism every major public figure gets some, and sometimes it’s fair. But there’s a difference between constructive critique and constant nitpicking. She’s been in the spotlight for almost two decades now, and it seems like people either idolize her or can’t stand her, with very little in between. So I’m curious what do you all think? Are we too harsh on Taylor Swift or is this just the price of being the most famous artist on the planet?16 points

I wish she would approach this differently. Responding to criticism with dismissal even when it comes from a place of frustration can close the door to meaningful reflection. Every artist, no matter how accomplished, benefits from moments of honest feedback. Negative reviews don’t always signal failure; they often highlight perspectives that can inspire growth and refinement. Acknowledging critique with grace doesn’t weaken confidence it strengthens credibility. True artistry involves both self-assurance and humility, knowing when to stand by your vision and when to listen. Growth often begins in the uncomfortable space between the artist’s intent and the audience’s response. There’s a difference between owning your narrative and refusing to listen. Bad reviews aren’t personal attacks; they’re part of the dialogue that comes with releasing art. If you truly believe in what you made, you don’t have to hide behind the noise. You face it, learn from it, and evolve. Sending love to her. I hope she can change and grow.15 points

For the first time the world doesn't drop to its knees before her and she decides it warrants a response to dismiss the incredibly valid criticism of her lackluster and cringy writing, uninspired production, predatory sales tactics, and MAGA dogwhistling. All while still breaking sales records It's giving fragile, narcissistic ego but wbk she's a real life mean girl. Poor little billionaire Life must be so hard for you12 points

Nah, it’s mostly that her and her fans are insufferable and she’s deeply shallow and self-absorbed. She literally talks about the lyrics on this album like they’re profound. Her head is too far up her own ass and she needs to touch grass expeditiously.10 points

Let's be honest, other fanbases are jealous of her. If she weren't as successful, no one would care this much about how genuine or artistic she is. Other artists don't even write her songs or direct her own videos, she does, she's very involved in every single step of her creative process, more than any other popstar. Judging by how we love to brag about every achievement of our faves, we all wish they were on her level of success, wether we admit it or not. There's a reason why the charts thread here is contantly buzzing, we all care about charts and stats, is part of being a fanbase.9 points

I feel like the vast majority of the criticism I’ve seen of TLOAS is extremely valid. There’s a difference between blatant hate and criticism. Commenting on her dating life or past relationships, imo, has always been weird and ugly. It always felt very misogynistic; I think THAT is unwarranted hate. However, when it comes to her music and how she presents herself as an “artist”, I think those are 100% valid critiques.8 points

Erm I would pretty much let Taylor know that she is a boring **** and, um the album that she gave me was not something that I would particularly listen to myself. They were old maiden type of variants, and she said that those variants were meant to be eaten up EVERYONE and their grandmas. So if that is the case she should have put them back in the studio and she should never even recorded them because she was UNQUALIFIED to give me that album if that's the case and, um I think that Taylor is just a disgrace. She's a disgrace to women who are actually talented and classy and, um she just doesn't have the vernacular she thinks she possesses Somebody lied to her several times and told her that she was a showgirl, a poet, hot and sexy and beautiful and she's nothing like that She's nothing of the sort7 points

in fact we should be even more harsh on that hunched back hag! let’s continue to shame mediocrity and praise hard work and talent. imagine having the privilege of being a working musician and all you do is sing talk to high school level poetry as a grown ass adult? there’s so many artists working their asses off daily to improve at their craft.7 points
-
no i actually think people are too soft on her considering her music would be downright panned or passed if released by any other artist, her stature as a untouchable juggernaut is preceeding too much the quality of her work.7 points
-
She also gets praise when it is not warranted honestly . she can literally buy 10/10 reviews and fabricate record sales with all the variants. she is the textbook definition of overrated7 points
-
No she needs to go away for a while she is so obsessed with what people think of her and it’s a big turnoff go live your fabulously rich life girl stop caring what people think of you7 points

I'm not a swiftie, just a casual listener, but the dogpiling/tribalism everyone is showing is so gross. The same sh*t you see in high school, work places, etc.. always wanting to see the "top dog" fail because everyone is secretly jealous and miserable. Anyway, I enjoyed the album, Fate of Ophelia is an incredibly catchy song, one of her best leads imo.7 points
-
No because she gets praise when she does things worthy of praising. She simply didn’t do that this time.7 points

Most of the fandom loved Disease. There was just apprehension from some because they everso naively thought it was the lead single so it might not get positive GP recognition. The Mayhem Ball is probably the darkest thing she's ever created and it's a massive success across the board.7 points

Well she will inevitably break Adele's record with one of her albums so not surprising to me. The key difference is, when Adele released 25, everyone and their mother rushed to buy a personal copy, and maybe one for the car. People gifted the album to eachother at Christmas because they thought the receiver likes Adele just as much as they do. That's an artist that really touched the regular person. Like Céline did before her. Like Whitney with Bodyguard. Taylor releases same bland songs with 55 variants in 120 formats and her fanbase makes sure to get all of them because they think it's their personality. Art and music can be commercial, but Taylor is just the soundtrack to late capitalism. I will continue to be disgruntled, and she'll continue to sell millions every week.7 points

White woman crocodile tears. @Ladle Ghoulash made a post about how she literally behaves like Trump yet is constantly praised for it ("strong" businesswoman when she legit scams people, can't let anything go with other female artists yet is a feminist who attacks women repeatedly, can't stand anyone having a touch of success (Billie, SZA, Olivia), cries when she isn't praised because she's entitled to Grammys, thinks she's a genius English teacher when she's mediocre at best and believes using a thesaurus is the same as composing a song). Oh and she loves to heehee around MAGA for funsies. She's ****ing weird.6 points
