I know someone with a sub so I saw it myself, and it’s essentially more about his precious brand image getting hurt rather than money. (Personally I think it’s about ego and money once you look into the owner of Lost, Matt Biolos, lol) Saying that Lost’s reputation will be “destroyed”, and the brand and identity will be “consumed by Lady Gaga’s fame” and “dominant influence”. They want her to remove Mayhem branded tour merch from her store with the logo, and they alluded to delaying the tour: “If Lady Gaga removes the Mark from her merchandise, Lady Gaga may commence her concert tour without a delay and continue the sale of clothing. There is sufficient time for Lady Gaga to remove the infringing mark from her tour merchandise for sale at her concerts.” Likely why the new merch has a new logo. They argue customers have been confusing Gaga’s Mayhem with the brand when entering stores, or under social media comments, but I’m just wondering…how many people really? How many surfers and skaters even know Abracadabra exists? It’s not even a competing market? If you look at the registered trademark document/patent itself, it only lists “For: beanies, caps, jackets, pants, sandals, shorts, t shirts, tank tops”. And “the mark consists of standard characters without claim to any particular font, style, size, or color”…still weird to me that they can trademark a word’s usage specifically on merch Gaga’s team response: (and NO, her team did NOT say the moron bit, they quoted Lost’s filing which makes it more funny lmao)
