My guess this is just the start. Sure, they'll blame ratings or how the late night talk show is dying in general, but Colbert is the highest rated out of all of them and makes the network a ton of money. Truth is, the US is now a soft dictatorship - something I never thought I'd see.9 points

After almost 20 years of listening to Just Dance and LoveGame live, I’m fully here for The Fame getting newer representation If her team’s smart enough, we could have another Bloody Mary, Party 4 U, Cruel Summer situation9 points

Gurl pls, don’t have an affair if you don’t want to potentially ruin your marriage. I find this to be absolutely incredible, the universe works in wondrous ways sometimes9 points

That's the Bowie Fame sample again, right?? She's really been dying to use that for years, huh. Didn't she also have it in the original demo version of Babylon?7 points

Rolling Stone: “LADY GAGA IS A FEARLESS STORYTELLER DURING HER LEGACY-DEFINING MAYHEM BALL: When Lady Gaga turned Coachella into a cathedral of chaos in April, Rolling Stonehailed it as the “performance of a lifetime.” With the launch of her Mayhem Ball tour in Las Vegas Wednesday night, Gaga didn’t just revisit that show — she expanded it, sharpened it, sprinkled in some nostalgia, and fully realized the gothic dream she had only just introduced.” Variety: “Throughout the two-hour and 12-minute evening, she threaded a narrative that explored the various touchpoints of her decades-long career, confecting a breathless, finely-tuned spectacular that once again reinforced that when it comes to Gaga, success is never an accident — just a welcome reminder of her many, many talents and, more importantly, how she’s continued to refine them. (She said as much at the end, listing herself in the closing credits twice as director.)“ Yahoo: “The Mayhem Ball – which kicked off Wednesday (July 16) at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada (basically Las Vegas) — is a theatrical, electric and delicious live affair, offering fans charged performances of Mayhem’s best songs (some of which are among her all-time best) and previous dance classics that inhabit the same sonic and thematic universe. The tour’s opening night was for a sold-out crowd, and despite the 99-degree heat outside the arena walls, everyone was ready to thrown down the moment Mother Monster took the stage.” USA Today: “Along with visuals that evoked Alice in Wonderland if she tumbled down a rabbit hole into the arms of David Bowie and Marilyn Manson, the concert confirmed that Lady Gaga is the ultimate performer.“7 points

You’ll have the time of your life. The segment with Boys Noize is insane, I kept thinking « Why the **** did Gaga not go through with a full album with this guy…. »7 points

It’s truly fascinating how such a huge part of the fanbase doesn’t like Killah, it’s so quintessentially Gaga6 points

she could end the show with Rain On Me or Free Woman. What do you think?6 points

No, because your passive agressive attitude is unwarranted. "I shouldnt have expected better"... get over yourself tbh6 points

I didn't see anyone commenting on this, but the shirt Gaga wore during HBDUWM was a tribute to the band The Cramps, whose song Goo Goo Muck was originally used for the dance scene in Wednesday, the same scene that went viral with Bloody Mary. I thought it was a really cool tribute!6 points

My only issue is the lack of videos. She was THE music video girl in pop . She was the one who made music videos eventful in the late 00s/early 10s. Both hardcore fans and casuals would expect her visual productions eagerly, because everyone knew it was going to be this huge thing. It was a big part of her appeal as an artist . And her last... SEVERAL releases just couldn't hold up to her legacy, for many reasons . 🩷 Jazz albums with modest visuals 🖤 Folk inspired album with modest visuals 🩷 Crime film video with modest visuals 🖤 ARTPOP was cut early and had a full cancelled video and only two visuals 🩷 Chromatica had only 3 videos, and out of those, only 1 became memorable And now Mayhem has, again, just three videos, and two of them are quite modest . I understand that, in the past, this situation was completely out of her control, and she couldn't do anything about it. Health issues, pandemic, label decisions, etc. But for Mayhem, all the stars seem alligned for her to be at the top of her game again, and she is, and she's delivering on every area, except for the videos, which in my opinion are a key element to her brand . I do not complain, because the live show was so cinematic and spectacular, that I'm honestly satisfied with that, she outdid herself. BUT, it is impossible not to think about the fact that the Mayhem experience could've been EVEN GREATER, with better music videos. Only Abracadabra was like... a true GAGA video so far, I wish she would make at least one more . But whatever, I'm ok with the show that we got.6 points

I'm done thinking about a new single, and realistically, I don't even know if she has time to film a new video in the middle of a world tour. If the rumours about the Tim Burton filming session end up being about her music, and not Wednesday, I will assume it was for that new song, not HBDUWM. I'm keeping my delusions realistic, and I expect either nothing, or a new stand alone single to promote Wednesday (new song, or Zombieboy) and nothing else .6 points

I dont wanna hear anyone else suggesting she should remove/swap Summerboy i've been waiting more than a decade for this. Gaga, please, keep it the whole tour, I wanna sing it in my date6 points

Nicki Minaj is accusing Top Dawg Entertainment affiliate MackWop of publicly threatening her after she and SZA exchanged messages on Twitter. While on a live stream, the TDE affiliate reacted to the feud, which millions witnessed in real time on the social media app, and laughed. Defending SZA, he said, "Nicki, relax... Relax before you get put in the blender like your boy did." The Trinidadian femcee reached out to a member of the Republican Party, Anna Paulina Luna, who serves Florida's 13th congressional district. She claims that MackWop referenced the recent Tory Lanez stabbing in his comments. Luna advocated for Lanez's freedom. Anna Paulina has replied and reassured Nicki that her safety is important. She then posted that she was able to get in contact with Nicki. source source5 points

Chris Martin caught a couple by surprise as he addressed the audience at Coldplay's concert in Boston on Wednesday. As the frontman panned his 'kiss cam' around the crowd at Gillette Stadium, the pair looked horrified to be seen by thousands on the big screen. 'Oh look at these two! Oh what?' he exclaimed as they covered their faces and dived behind the barrier. Chris joked: 'Either they're having an affair or they are just very shy!' source5 points

Manifesting that "Aura" becomes the new Judas It's the song gaining most traction on tiktok atm, yes even over "Summerboy".5 points

I could strangly see "Happy Mistake" tying in nicely to second half of the show too.5 points

I just heard Summerboy for the first time today. Omg its like a Vanish Into You but younger i love it sm5 points

Honestly, I'm kind of obsessed with the fact that she's so addicted to TikTok because if it weren't for that, she wouldn't have performed Summerboy I feel like so much of this era is a reaction to Little Monsters on social media. She's chronically online and sees everything fans say and post, and I think that not only informed how she went about making MAYHEM, but also how she promotes it.5 points

When asked what the next single should be, the only correct answer is Summerboy5 points

Stephen will be fine. Shitty move, and Paramount heads are spinless cowards but Colbert's coming out of this with a win, honestly his comedy style took a dip working for a major network, he'll get a much better gig whether it be financially or artisticly fulfilling. What I think is more devastating honestly (other than manipulative extortion of the trump admin) is that they're ending The Late Show and presumably closing the Ed Sullivan theater. This feels historic for all the sad reasons nothing bittersweet about it, cancelling the most viewed late night show on air is a nail to the coffin of an already fading format, this just makes it feel real in a way and it's really sad. The format was a staple for me personally growing up (still to an extent) and historically is so engraved in pop culture. I tell you what tho the next 10 months are gonna be Conan-leaving-NBC level of unhinged fun4 points
