Lady Gaga Brings Down the House at YouTube Upfront and Says She’s a Relentless ‘Rehearser’ Gearing Up for World Tour (EXCLUSIVE) Lady Gaga brought the house down at the YouTube Upfronts, reminding the world why she remains a singular force in music and performance. Her show-stopping appearance at YouTube’s annual Brandcast event captivated the crowd from the moment she took the stage. The entire audience waited anxiously for Mother Monster’s entrance. At one point during the presentation — while Volvo’s Global Chief Marketing Officer, Gretchen Saegh-Fleming, was discussing the company’s return on investment in advertising with YouTube — Gaga could be heard warming up backstage, preparing for what would become a standout moment of the night. In the lead-up to the event, a private dress rehearsal was held for only a select few — offering invitees an exclusive glimpse into the meticulous artistry Gaga brings to every performance. Behind closed doors, she and her band worked tirelessly to perfect the setlist, fine-tuning transitions, vocal runs, and instrumental cues. Even in rehearsal, the energy was electric. Music echoed through the halls of David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, prompting even the green room guests to pause and take it in. When Gaga took the stage, the event to promote advertising opportunities turned into a mini-concert that left the lucky attendees on their feet, teasing the level of spectacle fans can expect on her upcoming global tour. The multi-hyphenate icon took over the storied venue with a five-song set that left the industry crowd electrified — and afterward, opened up to Variety in an exclusive backstage interview. Backed by a sleek, cinematic stage design and her unmistakable vocal firepower, Gaga delivered powerhouse numbers of “Abacadabra,” “Perfect Celebrity,” “How Bad Do You Want Me,” and the haunting ballad “Vanish Into You,” all from her latest chart-topping album. One of the most emotional moments of the evening came when she performed a solo version of “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born” (2018), the track that earned her an Oscar for Best Original Song and her first Academy Award nomination for best actress. It was a bold mix of hits and fan favorites that showcased Gaga’s range as both a pop provocateur and emotional storyteller. “I was so happy they let me sing songs from the album,” Gaga tells Variety, referring to her recent genre-blending set. But the night wasn’t just about her star power — it was also deeply personal for the Grammy winner. Sitting in the audience were her mother, her fiancé, and longtime manager Bobby Campbell. “Playing Geffen Hall was a dream come true,” she says. “To perform in that space, was just magical.” Known for her tireless work ethic, Gaga now calls herself a relentless “rehearser.” She’s been preparing daily, shaping every detail of her upcoming tour — which kicks off in July — with precision and passion. Judging by her performance at Brandcast, Gaga’s next chapter is already in motion — and fans should expect nothing short of spectacular. https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/lady-gaga-youtube-brandcast-performance-interview-1236398597/20 points

The latest bombshell in the "It Ends With Us" legal case, suggests Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's friendship might be over, for good reason . After requesting for Taylor Swift to be subpoena'd, attorney Bryan Freedman has now filed an ammended request, focusing on one specific document, which might expose the ugly end of the stars' friendship . Basically he is claiming to have info about texts between Blake Lively's team, and Taylor's, in which Blake allegedly VEHEMENTLY SUGGESTS for Taylor to endorse her publicly, otherwise compromising texts could be exposed to the public. Freedman alleges that Taylor's legal team interpreted this request as blackmail, and at least one letter exists documenting this. And it is that letter only, that he is interested in. He is essentially saying: "Taylor gurl, we don't need to go through all of your private texts, and find whatever beef you may have with other pop stars, we JUST need the letter your lawyers sent to Blake, and the texts she sent you requesting to delete parts of your chats with her, that's ALL we need, and you get to keep all of your dirty laundry to yourself" . Needless to say, this is all alleged by Justin Baldoni's defendant, so it absolutely is a biased claim, and could have no truth to it whatsoever . HOWEVER... we now know the exact date Taylor Swift was notified about the subpoena, and it is the same day her boyfriend unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram . All of this is to be taken with a grain of salt. This absolutely could be Justin Baldoni's lawyer trying to present a false narrative. But I do find it believable at the very least. Do you think we're getting "Bad Blood" 2.0 besties?12 points

Welcome to the Megarate of Gaga's Videography! Lady Gaga’s music videography is a visual chronicle of transformation, ambition, and boundary-pushing art. Since her debut in 2008, Gaga has consistently used the music video not just as promotion but as a core element of her storytelling, fusing fashion, surrealism, narrative, and symbolism. Her early videos like Just Dance, Poker Face, and LoveGame were colorful, dance-heavy, and introduced her as a bold new figure in pop. But it was Paparazzi and Bad Romance that elevated her to a visual icon, both videos combining gothic aesthetics with dark commentary on fame and power. Telephone, her 2010 collaboration with Beyoncé, played out like a short film—gloriously absurd, cinematic, and rebellious. The Born This Way era brought myth, religion, and personal liberation into the mix. Gaga transformed herself in nearly every video—from giving birth to a new race in Born This Way, to channeling Mary Magdalene in Judas, to exploring hybrid identities in You and I. These works became more conceptual, pushing boundaries of gender and genre. In the Artpop and Joanne eras, Gaga oscillated between maximalism and minimalism. G.U.Y. was a surreal 11-minute epic filmed at Hearst Castle with mythological allusions and Real Housewives cameos, while Million Reasons and Perfect Illusion stripped everything down to raw emotional performance. Her return to dance-pop in the Chromatica era revived Gaga’s affinity for vivid, world-building visuals. Stupid Love and Rain on Me offered futuristic, choreographed utopias, while 911 stunned with its surreal psychological twist. The most recent, loosely defined Mayhem era continues in fragments. While traditional videos have been sparse, Gaga has released unpredictable, visually striking clips, sometimes tied to brands, remixes, or short art films. Videos like Abracadabra, Disease, and Die with a Smile (2025) showcase her ongoing commitment to transformation, blending fantasy, identity, and theatrical performance. Over the past nearly two decades, Gaga has turned the music video into a platform for experimentation, activism, and reinvention, making her one of the most visually innovative artists of her generation. Rules: 1) Each music video must be rated on a scale of 1 to 10. 2) Trolling is not allowed. Chris Brown was arrested at a five-star hotel in the UK early this morning after allegedly attacking a music producer with a bottle at a nightclub two years ago. Metropolitan Police detectives detained the 36-year-old American musician at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester at 2am today on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Brown is thought to have been taken into custody at a police station for questioning just hours after arriving at Manchester Airport on a private jet. The allegations relate to an incident in February 2023 where Brown is claimed to have injured music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London's Mayfair. The Met told MailOnline: 'A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2am on Thursday, May 15 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. 'He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.' Mr Diaw has previously claimed Brown assaulted him in an unprovoked attack when the rapper and his entourage were at a club night called 'Dirty Martini'. The producer has alleged that Brown hit over the head with a bottle two or three times and then punched and kicked him as he lay on the floor. Brown had been in the UK during a worldwide tour at the time. source UPDATE: On Friday, Chris Brown has appeared in court. He was escorted to the dock at Manchester Magistrates' court by two security guards. Several fans were in court to show their support for the singer - too many to fit into one courtroom. Judge Hirst told Brown GBH(Grievous Bodily Harm) is "too serious" an offence to be dealt with at Magistrates’ court. The Judge then confirmed that the case will be heard on June 13 at 10am at Southwark Crown Court in London. Chris Brown has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance on June 13. source6 points

Frankie will release his major label debut album on June 27 via Casablanca Records and Republic Records. Republic Records President and Chief Creative Officer Wendy Goldstein says she heard “just a handful of Frankie’s songs” and was so “blown away” that she immediately signed him on the spot. https://music.apple.com/au/album/hotel-rock-bottom/1811704599 Singles:3 points

I can't stand how they try to force the "Eurovision is neutral" narrative and then do everything they can to avoid showing the reality of how people are reacting in the arena, benefiting clearly one participant... And it's insane how they are so afraid of the word Kant let the people scream it as much as they want, don't silence it you cowards Anyways, Australia robbed and we all know who took its well deserved spot3 points

I mean, she also has casual fans...Not everyone is watching Coachella or Copacabana multiple times. Also, the experience of watching a live stream vs actually living the show is entirely different.3 points

Hey, Monsters Much of the forum staff will be attending the same Mayhem Ball date this September and after a bit of discussion we thought "why not do something for the community?" So, here's the idea. We wanted to give GGD members a chance to get a letter to Gaga we would then try to meet up with Bobby or even Gaga personally and hand over all the letters, bound together in a book Disclaimer: This project is entirely dependent on Bobby and Gaga's schedule the day of. There have been concert dates in the past when she's been able to make time to see GGD staff after the show and other dates where she's been entirely unavailable. We will do our absolute best to get your letters to her but please don't be too upset if things end up not working out A few notes: - Mods will be reading your letters. Anything you share is 100% confidential and judgement free. Our eyes and Bobby/Gaga's eyes will be the only ones seeing what you've written. - We don't have a hard deadline for this, probably sometime in June is when we'll send them off to be printed so we can ensure we have book in hand well before September, so you have a while to work on your letter. - Please be polite don't just write "where's Act II" four hundred times and call it a letter we want to create something that shows just how special Gaga and her work is to so many of us, to the point we spend our days together on GagaDaily. We want her to be able to open it and read any random note when she's feeling isolated from the people whose lives she's touched. - You can submit your letters via my inbox here on GGD. If you are unable to send a message to me, please tag me in this thread so I can troubleshoot and send you a message. If you have questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them! This is a community project after all2 points

I'm still expecting an updated version of the Coachella show, but I'm certainly not going to complain if she creates a wholly different show for the MAYHEM Ball. For the fans expecting something 100% brand new, I think it's just better to set your expectations low. Not that the Coachella show is bad—I genuinely believe it's one of the best shows she's ever created—but it's better to be pleasantly surprised.2 points
