A higher quality video of this performance has FINALLY appeared after YEARS of fans waiting (back in May, but I'm only seeing it now lol). This is an acoustic version of Just Dance Lady Gaga did on September 14th, 2009 at the Marc Jacobs after party. This was the day after the VMAs; not seen in the video was the VMAs leotard, which was still stained in blood. The version Lady Gaga sang was partly inspired by Gary Go's cover from 2009 with slightly altered lyrics.14 points

In the most basic sense, a “khia” is a nobody, an irrelevant person. Beyoncé is canonically not a khia; neither is Taylor Swift, though she occasionally exhibits khia behavior. A khia is a pop girl who people talk about, but who no one seems to care about culturally. Here are contexts in which you might have encountered “khia,” assuming you’re homosexual (culturally or actually), under 30, and active on X: In a tweet commending a next-gen pop artist who’s been blowing up (“she had a one way ticket out of the khia asylum,” proclaims a Tate McCrae fan, posting a clip from her “greedy” music video) or dismissive response to a purportedly overhyped artist’s success (“Gracie Abrams is a khia and the only reason ppl listen to her is bc she is a taychild,” “taychild” meaning Taylor Swift pupil) or nostalgic remembrance of a time when a pop star enjoyed more niche status (“local takes like this is exactly why I want Carly Rae Jepsen to remain khia forever”). A textbook case of khia-dom: In 2014, a then 23-year-old Rita Ora, who’d been struggling to take hold in the United States, tweeted that she’d release new music if she got 100,000 retweets. She got a pittance of that engagement, summarily deleted the tweet, then feebly alleged that she’d gotten hacked, which absolutely no one believed. Men are rarely called khias, with the exception of perhaps Lil Nas X. The meaning and application of “khia” has evolved to accommodate differences in artist intention. Nicki Minaj and pop-culture stan account @Yslonika proffered Lana Del Rey as someone who is still considered successful even if she does not chart: “She’s not considered a khia because she’s a staple in pop culture.” Being a “khia” may not be about stats so much as integrity and vision. https://www.thecut.com/article/what-is-a-khia-pop-music-slang-internet-explainer.html13 points

Hello, everyone, Back in April, I joined this platform to share one of my passions: graphic design. At the time, I uploaded a collection of fan-made album artwork inspired by various films, concerts, and tours associated with Lady Gaga. I was thrilled to receive such positive feedback from the community. Since then, I’ve decided to revamp my previous designs and develop some new concepts. I’m excited to share these updated pieces with you and hope you enjoy them. Feel free to use and appreciate them as much as I enjoyed creating them! Thank you for your support! “When you’re lonely, I’ll be lonely too, and this is the fame.” — Lady Gaga, an excerpt from the Manifesto of Little Monsters Introduction The Monster Ball Tour by Lady Gaga, launched in 2009 and concluded in 2011, is one of the most iconic pop tours of all time. Designed to support her sophomore album, The Fame Monster, this tour marked Gaga’s ascent into global superstardom. Described as the first-ever “pop electro opera,” the tour was a blend of theatrical storytelling, avant-garde fashion, and electrifying performances. Over two years, the tour spanned 201 performances across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, earning $227.4 million and becoming one of the highest-grossing tours by a debut headliner. Background and Genesis The Monster Ball Tour was initially conceptualized following the cancellation of a joint tour with Kanye West, titled Fame Kills. Gaga reimagined the project, announcing Monster Ball as a standalone venture in October 2009, just days before The Fame Monster album’s release. The tour premiered in Montreal, Canada, in November 2009, and was divided into two phases: a theater-based setup in late 2009 and a grand arena show starting in 2010. The storyline centered on a journey to the “Monster Ball,” blending themes of self-discovery, fame, and acceptance. Storyline and Themes The tour’s narrative followed Gaga and her friends navigating through surreal settings like a New York City-inspired forest and a gothic industrial wasteland. Along the way, they encountered fantastical creatures, including a giant mechanical anglerfish. Gaga used her performances to inspire fans, whom she dubbed her “Little Monsters,” to embrace their individuality and overcome insecurities. Fashion and Design Fashion played a pivotal role in The Monster Ball. Gaga collaborated with her creative team, the Haus of Gaga, alongside legendary designers such as Alexander McQueen, Giorgio Armani, and Prada. Standout costumes included McQueen’s futuristic Plato’s Atlantis collection, a living dress co-created with animatronics experts, and custom latex designs by Atsuko Kudo. These bold, sculptural outfits reinforced the tour’s themes of transformation and otherworldliness. Accolades and Impact The tour earned widespread acclaim for its innovative production, theatricality, and Gaga’s powerhouse performances. Critics praised her ability to merge high art with pop culture, elevating the concert experience. The Monster Ball Tour set records for ticket sales and became a cultural milestone, influencing future tours in the music industry. It also solidified Gaga’s reputation as a boundary-pushing artist committed to artistry and advocacy for self-expression. Conclusion Fifteen years later, the Monster Ball Tour remains a defining moment in pop culture. It exemplified Gaga’s artistry, blending music, fashion, and storytelling into an immersive experience. Beyond its commercial success, the tour fostered a sense of community among fans, reinforcing Lady Gaga’s legacy as a transformative force in music. Its anniversary serves as a testament to her enduring impact and creative genius. Question for the Fans For those reflecting on Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour, were you old enough to witness its cultural impact in real time? If you were among the lucky ones who attended, what show did you go to, and what was your experience like? How has the Monster Ball influenced your life, or how do you think it shaped Gaga’s career and artistic evolution? Share your memories and thoughts about this groundbreaking era in pop history.12 points

I reported this thread for slander against Rita Ora. She was a VICTIM of HACKING and you use that to make jokes about the Queen of Pop? Its discussing to be honest and I will stand for it If Rita is a khia then she is probably the corrupt prison warden or something Katy's legacy as an icon will always prevent her from not being a khia IMO. Dua 100% fits though.10 points

I hate seeing the media embrace the toxic discourse from stan Twitter just to drive clicks and boost numbers—remember when Vulture did this? Classic clickbait. Music listeners need to stop acting like they own record labels. It’s exhausting and just another symptom of how we internalize capitalist dynamics on a personal level. Honestly, I can’t imagine people obsessed with charts listening to anything outside mainstream pop—it’s like their taste begins and ends with whatever’s trending. Such a narrow, stifling way to engage with music. Enough with this ****.7 points

To be honest she may be more than a cameo and shot several scenes for different episodes all at once Not saying she will be main but she could be guest starring in a couple of episodes7 points

It’s most probably a strategy to get the public interested in the new sound. As per the example of The Weeknd, this situation is not unique to Gaga. Most of us here, who follow charts for longer, know how Interscope and Gaga react to a surprising rejection of the song ( Perfect Illusion). Drop all support and go on with promoting the 2nd single and album. Interscope obviously pushing Disease on radio after a month of a luke warm reaction on streaming shows that they have a plan and are sticking to it.7 points

I personally hope/think she’s learned that we’ll eat up the content no matter how long after the album it is or how untimely it seems commercially. TCB sold out with flying colors after all 2 years after an album release and 2 years after any notable single. I could see her popping up every couple of months with a music video (maybe 3/4 more for the era) and some other content throughout next year. I’ll always stand by that she should’ve utilized Babylon or Alice and dropped a music video in summer 2021/alongside DOC or even alongside TCB. We would’ve ate it up even 2 years after the album6 points

This is laughable. Beyoncé is objectively the right choice to top this list. Some kids just can't handle that a strong black woman did it better, does it better and will always do it better than anyone has since the height of legends like Madonna, Prince, or Michael Jackson.5 points

Yep. I think it's superb, no skips, her voice is very beautiful on it, to my ear. Also, people refer to it as a jazz album or as being full of classics ... well, ok, true I supoose, but what about the arrangements ? They all start out kinda orthodox but end up kinda unhinged (the work of a strung out girl). These are not just covers.4 points

It’s rap my guy, it’s a rap battle. This is like Mike Tyson suing the organisers of his boxing match with Logan Paul because Logan was punching him in the ring. Before this track Drake falsely accused Kendrick of beating his fiancée/wife Whitney and falsely claimed that not all of his children were his and were instead fathered by Dave Free. Kendrick didn’t sue, he responded with disses of his own and made a video directed by Dave Free featuring his family dancing and embracing. Jay Z didn’t sue Nas when Nas accused him of performing oral sex on an underage Foxy Brown, Cam’ron didn’t sue Mase for accusing him of having sex with his own sister, Nicki didn’t sue Remy Ma when she claimed Nicki slept with Radio DJ Ebro etc. Acting like this is exactly what Kendrick meant in Euphoria when he questioned Drake’s connection to the culture and called him a fraud. Funnily enough, Kendrick also mentions Drake sent a cease and desist for the “Like That” track which is similar to the accusations made that he sent a cease and desist to French Montana. Let’s be 100% real here. Drake has “lied” in his music and in his disses directed to other artists, he has his shady streaming deals and he has been accused of inflating streams. He got sent a cease and desist from Tupac’s estate for generating Tupac and Snoop’s voice using AI for his Taylor Made diss. This is all hypocrisy and projection from a fragile individual who lost a rap battle.4 points

If this was the "how many weeks has their album lasted on the hot 200" list, then it seems like she would have won. But considering its not, and there are other factors at play here, including the quality of the music and the amount of cultural impact the works makes, she's not going to sit in the same position. And this is where, no matter how many more records Taylor sells, she's still not competing with Beyonce yet. She frankly just doesn't have a Rennaissance, Cowboy Carter, Lemonade or Self-Titled level album in her catalogue, quality wise. Massive singles and album sales, sure. But the level of impact those albums had? Haven't seen her really approach it yet, feel like 1989 was the closest she came to that.4 points
