I prefer AP thank you. TFM is just praised because the world considered it an EP and everybody feels sorry for it because it isn't considered an LP. Also because all of it's singles were smash hits but so ****ing what. Plus Venus is lyrically very clever. It's a love song based on Roman mythology and the goddess of love and how Gaga wishes to escape to a planet of love and compassion with her lover. While also still being a reference to the art "the birth of Venus". It has more metaphores than people recognise and this refers to the whole of ARTPOP. And to be honest the only dark tracks to me were Speechless, Monster and Alejandro.

:wtf: uhh..

I think most would agree ARTPOP is her weakest lyrically, TFM had very dark and vivid lyrics that were still relatable, could you elaborate on how those lyrics are worse than something like "Aphrodite lady seashell bikini"?

With Gaga, lyrics are something that I choose not to put too much scrutiny on. Even from the very beginning, the majority of her lyrics are silly, overwrought, and either uncomfortably straightforward or esoterically metaphorical. And I look at it as a strength of hers because 99% of it is intentional. The mood, atmosphere, energy, melodies, and those epic choruses are far more important to me, and ARTPOP is no exception.

As for the lyrics to "Venus" specifically, I'm not sure if the song in general is meant to have a point. I look at it as a conglomeration of all things wonderfully, affectionately campy (the images that the disjointed lyrics conjure up support this). That laser-like bass line, the wall of harmonies, the drum line breakdown that builds into a chorus that only continues to get bigger. I mean, it sounds and feels like a comet from the 70s and I'm sure she knew exactly what she was doing.

THIS! :trootea: this entire fandom will never get over TFM but it's clear she's improved when it comes to song writing when you listen to BTW and AP.

I personally choose Bloody Mary because it is just overall better and if it had been on the fame monster everybody would say BM but nope it's on BTW so all it's gonna get is shade and dust. Ughhh :manicure:

I agree with you.

Bloody Mary is my favorite Gaga song ever. So I had to vote for it, but DITD is great as well. Very different songs really IMO.

Bloody Mary. I love the overall creepy atmosphere and the way she sings here, with the lyrics too.

And even if it didn't, that gregorian chant where they say GAGA is just...

I simply can't pick DITD over all this.
