Basically, Vocaloid is a computer program in which a person's voice is recorded and turned into singing. First a person has to record themselves saying many different phrases and sounds. When that is done, another person then uses these sound files within the program to create a song. The program itself takes these sound bits and pitches/arranges them. As a "mascot" of the Vocaloid program, you can take Hatsune Miku's voice and make her sing anything you can think of. As an example, somebody took Gaga's acapellas, extracted the different sound bits needed, and used them within the program. I think it's really cool that Gaga chose Miku to open for her because her music represents "power to the people" in a way. People are using the technology within Vocaloid to create their own art. I don't even know much about Vocaloid, but I can identify her songs from hearing her fans at conventions sing/butcher them. Her movement is limited and there just isn't much soul on stage to connect with when it's an animation on a screen. I just don't see myself getting very pumped to see her. and I can't understand what she is saying Sorry guys, that's just my opinion. I have watched like 3 videos of her and I'm just not really feeling it. I was hoping for Zedd or Madeon or another DJ that gets things warmed up and exciting. At least i'm going for Gaga and not for the opening act. I'll probably get water, take picture of the catwalks and with friends during the opening acts. Oh well.
