So wait... 2.3 MILLION in only SIX MONTHS is a flop? I disagree tbh...

Cause PRISM had a preorder too.

Venus wasn't #1 in 90 countries like DWUW…

Venus was blocked by One Direction's song which had more preorders than ARTPOP

And Dark Horse and Walking on Air all shot to #1 on iTunes because of the preorder effect in September.

Yes, they did.

But keep in mind, DWUW breaking the record means other people also bought it. That's why it went platinum, while Venus and Dope didn't.

DWUW went Platinum because it was serviced to radio as the 2nd single. Yeah it was shown more interest initially than Venus and Dope but it wasn't MASSIVE. Just a 48k lead.

You should have been here in 2011 when BTW's 7M+ sales were considered a flop by haters and even some fans :rip:

God, this.....

And Judas being crucified (lolz) for peaking at #10..... Right now, we would just die for a top 10 song.

Exactly the opposite. No one will buy an album that's called a flop. That's not the type of promo you want for your work.

it got people talking about the album, it promoted it. If no one talked about "ARTPOP's flop" i doubt it would've sold that much.

Oh :megaflop:

I wish we could talk about how much success Gaga DESERVED and not how much she earned... :messga:

Just for optimism's sake.

Meh, DWUW ended up doing ok.

Another 1,000,000+ people decided to buy it after its first week so :ohwell:

At the end of the day, ARTPOP as an album, along with ALL its singles and promo singles didn't end up getting the success they TRULY deserved. But what matters to me is that it did, indeed, earn that success in the hearts of millions of monsters worldwide. :legend::flutter:
