Paint your face, paint her face

It's talking about the c-----e use. When you do a line you might just get some on you, making it look like you painted your face white. That's why "be a swine just for the weekend" immediately follows it.

Ahhh, that's really plausible tbh. It never even crossed my mind! I think it could also be a reference to d--gs in general as a way to mask your face/mind?

The lyrics

Paint your face and, paint his face and, be a Swine just for the weekend

Etc.

To me, have always meant to go crazy, have fun, party, be disgusting and as swine like as you wish just for the weekend.

it could be this, ORRRR she could be speaking as a scary male exec in the music industry telling her, a woman, to just paint her face with makeup like a swine, like the phrase "you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig" kinda thing. it might be either of the two.

I always thought it was this, I didn't even get the connection to the Applause cover :rip:

'Catch the beat' could be like catching the 'swine fever' or whatever you could call it, idk :fail:

This is a great view too, especially with what she was saying at Swinefest about how the s-xual abuse effected her, and still effects her to this day.

I thought she was talking about 'd--g abuse' and stuff... She got s-xually abused????  :wtfga:

Yeah I always thought of it as a double entendre between the cum facial thing :wtf: and the use of makeup!

I think "catch the beat, just for the weekend" alludes to the thought process of the s-xual abuser: they join in with the awful acts that the men around them are getting away with; to them, s-x is merely a way to satisfy their hedonism rather than something that requires two consenting human beings.

It's not reaching. ARTPOP has extremely s-xual lyrics, and this is clearly one example of it.

This makes a lot of sense! Reminds me of Kanye's line from No Church In The Wild: coke on her black skin made a stripe like a zebra, I call that jungle fever.

I always saw it as a reference to cosmetic testing that they would do on pigs. Which I felt connected to the "lipstick on a pig" saying.
