Then she just rinses and repeats the same exact thing. This song seems like a straight up continuance of California Gurls styled video, Last Friday Night sonically. Just dumb. Like how about evolve a little as an artist? Prism is more mature than TD. One song on the album doesn't definite the whole record. She has evolved but unlike other popstars she's taking baby steps which is quite clever because she's evolving as artist but not to the point that she's alienating the GP. Just be happy for another female popster for once; Katy has worked her socks off - 'Birthday' is just a cute fun song that you can blast in your car and sing along with friends. I'm sorry but I don't really see katy evolving as an artist. Prism is TD 2.0, she didn't change that much. Birthday is an OK song, but songs like LL and Ghost are much better. They are trying to recreate the "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" hype. I like Katy but I wish she would give us more! "Wide Awake" and "Part Of Me" showed such promise.
