Tropico 4,145
So many people say "TF + TFM was her golden days and I want it to come back" but I FUCKING GUARANTEE YOU WOULD BE BORED EVENTUALLY! Like I know I wouldn't be here if Gaga kept releasing the shallow (but dance suitable, fun and catchy) songs she released in TF. It was a great album for a debut but going back to that would make her repetative. TFM is favoured so much but I still wouldn't want the same thing. BTW era and music is my favorite but I wouldn't want a similar album though because I wouldn't want to think "she'll be reaching about this forever now? Ugh." ARTPOP era is great in terms of music, fashion and performances because I don't stan for #1 hits but I stan for good music. If ARTPOP outsold PRISM and BEYONCE then I bet y'all (referring to those who obsess over charts and stuff) would be kissing Gaga's ass instead of dishing shade because you're only happy when she's number one. Gaga should keep changing it up. + Katy's thing for doing the same thing isn't really getting her respect. She still acts like the 5 yearold from TD even though PRISM is meant to be Dark. Like wtf is up with that childish DH video. Unconditionally video was good though! She is seen as a child entertainer in my eyes. She needs to use those killer vocals to make some mature music. Not bubblegum music. So Katy doesn't have it easy. PS: Rihanna is not sticking to the same stuff. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Ambrosia 3,775
Gaga's look is no longer selling albums. She was a strange, new enigma that people were interested in. The market is now saturated with other "Gagas", so she is no longer the unique/new sensation. Dressing "normal" won't change that either, instead she will look like it was all a stunt. She just do what she has been doing, and make good music. Short and sweet post that spoke much truth! I'm with ya on the music - good music is the key that opens doors. :) Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others. -Socrates

LoveandMagic 1,731
I love that each new album is an experience! After I discovered BTW I went back to view her past videos and listen to TF and TFM and for the most part I love them. I see each new era as a visual and media "package" and that's a lot of fun for me personally. I know ARTPOP has come off a little muddled I guess with performance and promotional issues, but I'm hearing good things with the tour and I think she has been pretty successful even if she hasn't "slayed." I know she has turned a lot of people off, but she gained me as a fan with BTW so maybe she has gained some more with ARTPOP. And who knows what the next one will bring? I think maybe she has figured out some things by now that will make the rest of this era fun and make the next one dynamic. She's growing and I like that, even if I'm not crazy about this album, I think she has a great knack for taking any subject or song and making it interesting. I really wish she had released music videos for some of her non singles (wasn't that originally the plan?). I would have really liked to see what she could do with ARTPOP, Aura, and Gypsy (as videos). Personally, I don't really care about charts, but they are a very good promotional tool I feel. So I could understand people being concerned about whether she is going in the right direction. As far as Katy is concerned, I congratulate her for her success but she doesn't interest me mainly because I feel I keep getting the same with her. I get her appeal, she's radio friendly for the most part, both s-xy and cute, she seems nice, and she seems mainly to have colorful, big budget videos. I think Katy will be around for a while, like Britney, because she's easy to market. But I don't think she will be remembered in the long run. People remember Madonna because she was constantly changing her look and sound and pushing the boundaries of a convientional pop star (I think Cyndi Lauper did the same with her image too). Gaga's willing to explore and wants to create, so who knows what's next? Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax." Shadow 6,626
because they are pretty all the time, and they aren't punk rock and wild and crazy. Isn't that boring after a while? No shade to those artists, but I figured people would get tired of similar music. Do your own research.
