Thanks guys for continuing to support the spirit. And yes, especially not to Dope...they should have an honest moment with her.

This will all be moot in a few years, once we're all using things like Google Glass, and there's no more distinction between looking at something and recording it.

Here are proof of what I'm talking about. It's understandable that these people wanted pictures because they paid for it, but recording and taking constant pictures throughout both songs? Why don't they put the phones down and enjoy the show? It's going to be Livestream and on Youtube, professionally recorded! Why need their low-quality recordings? You can even see that some of them aren't even looking at her! They're looking at their phones!

This is the part I find really sad. When I see people looking at the artists through their phone/camera screen, I swear a little part of me inside dies. It's sad that people don't realise they aren't actually connecting with the person in front of them. Looking at someone through a screen is not the same thing as looking at them in real life! It's like people are afraid to just be in the moment freely and fully.

I'm all for recording songs and wanting to document experiences, and I myself take videos during concerts, but I always make a point never to look at the screen while I'm recording. I watch the actual show with my own eyes and just hold my arm up to record...which actually means that half of them turn out a bit crap LOL  :toofunny: I still do it though because I do enjoy watching them later and the sounds really bring me right back to the night. But the most important thing really for me is to see everything first-hand, to be in the moment and connect with the artist in front of me. Nothing can replicate that.

if i was that close, i would take a few pictures because i would like to have memories from that night. but however i agree that it's annoying when you only stare at your phone and don't pay attention to her.

Ever since gaga has said to not enjoy the show through a camera lens, I try to do less pictures and videos. I use an actual camera though, and I do so because I have an absolutely terrible memory.  In order for me to remember what the experience was, I try to take my own photos to jolt my memory into being able to recall the shows.

I decided to just enjoy the shows during my first 3 BTWballs, and take photos later, however, the tour ended before I had a chance. I can barely remember anything from the shows, except the 5 minutes of highway unicorn I took with my phone.

For roseland, I tried to only take photos when I wasn't at the barricade because i knew I wouldn't get that much eye contact with her anyways.  And for when I was at the barricade, I only took a few when she was elsewhere on the stage not directly in front of me, because she does look down during some songs and it's devastating if all she sees is a lens.

The first song should have been Telephone, and she should have said I don't want to see them the whole entire show.

Yeah I'm pretty anti-phone when I go to concerts too. I remember at the BTWB I was so annoyed cause I was in the pit and dancing to the music and enjoying myself but all these people with their ipads and phones up in the air were blocking me and getting in my way. It's kind of annoying. Like how can you enjoy the video later if you didn't even live through the moment itself first?

This, no need to get your panties twisted, it'll be a non-issue really soon

At the Roseland show I went to, my view kept getting blocked by people holding their phones 2 feet above their heads. It was so annoying and I agree with this thread so much. Who cares about recording the show? There will always be videos on YouTube.

I actually think phones need to be banned from concerts or something. It actually makes no sense at all. They're watching it through a screen like you'd do at home even though they're at the damn thing. Ffs, SHE'S RIGHT F*CKING THERE.

Btw, that girl who just watched with her eyes (like you're supposed to at a concert), I LOVED her. That's how you enjoy a concert. Gaga definitely noticed her the most  :nick:

+ you can feel that last girl's happiness through the screen :sara: it's so cute imagine being so close to the person that helped you through the most rough times of your life, the person that you look up for her creativity and talent and that inspire you to make better things :flutter:

Yes!!!!

I only took pics/video's during one of the 5 Roseland shows I attended (and none at my 2 BTWBs or Swinefest) and I honestly don't know why I even bothered. I used to take a LOT of pics, but nowadays everyone does it so I can just enjoy the **** out of my show and then raid the web for pics later X-D #LAZY

I just realized I always used to 'hide' behind my camera, to give me something to do and avoid being awkward, but at Gaga concerts I don't feel like I have to. The one show I did take pictures of was one where I got battered by a grown man who was trying to push past me, I guess he triggered my need to hide or something.
