I think it would distort the experience.  You want to feel like you are there, and enjoying the moment with her and other fans.  How can you really dance, sing, jump, or look at her holding a small screen?  Is this real life?

I mean a few photos, certainly, but don't watch the entire thing behind a phone.

Also. That girl is beautiful. I really love the adoration I can see in her eyes and she absolutely deserved to be there.

What's worse than phones at concerts is when people who have more money (or in the case of Gaga's concerts) get taken backstage, singled out by the performer onstage, or whatever, because of how loud they're being or how much money they have, rather than how much they actually appreciate being there. That bothers me to no end more than a few people taking some photos.

i'm sorry, but gaga can't have it both ways.  sometimes she is all about technology, then she complains about it and is disgusted by selfies (even though she takes them ALL the time).  I understand what she means about living in the moment, but she isn't exactly a saint on the subject.

also, this did not need to be in news. i ran.  :fail:

this has bugged me ever since like,..the born this way era. i remember at her radio1 concert in may of 2011 when she gave that amazing intro in the coffin, ALL i see are phones. it was lame. so i agree with her.

and luckily im seeing her live, so i might take one of two photos randomly but ill be damned if im standing there for long durations getting photos and videos cuz its pathetic.

its a shame that the VIP people where so adamant about getting pics/vids, cuz theyre literally right there, what more do they need to record, they where right there, that last show was taped professionally, its not like you need evidence of footage to rewatch it.

its a shame tbh.

When I was at BTWB,I took a video of Highway Unicorn/Kill the Bitch because I was uber excited and it was my first Gaga concert. After that point,I put my camera away for the rest of the show,so I totally agree with this post.

I was getting SO SO SO mad watching the live stream when she was sitting at that piano and had a bunch of phones in her face. I kept screaming PUT THE DAMN PHONES DOWN NO ONE CAN SEE HER, IT'S BEING RECORDED PROFESSIONALLY WHAT DO YOU NEED TO RECORD THIS FOR?? Especially the person with a Samsung phone that had a pink case. oh lord, I was getting so mad. You don't even know.

I didn't even look at my phone when I record the few bits of it. I jut held it up and held the button down and watched the show with my own eyes - better view anyway. I just wanted to make sure I had some footage of my own at the very last show at Roseland ever.

its not at all contradictory, technology can bring us closer or it can isolate us. a bunch of concert goers standing there like drones with their phones out is alienating, there is no real connection happening there. on the other hand, advances in tech like the app, a release of a music video, etc. those things everyone can enjoy in a similar way, enjoy it together, because the work is already digitalized. but if its like, a live moment, put down the phone for fux sake.

Of course you could take a few pics, but it's senseless to record the whole thing and be fixated on your phone. It's disrespectful to the performer, and you're wasting your money. The best memory is an experience. Pictures are something you look at for 3 seconds, swipe, swipe, and it's over. They mean something if you were tuned-in to the performance when it happened, but that can never be the case if you were fixated on your screen the whole time in the first place.

I don't see the point of recording the performance when you know that TONS of people are recording it themselves (probably with better quality cameras too) and will post it on YouTube later.  It's really annoying to the people behind you and I'm sure it's annoying to the artist as well.  Just because you paid a few hundred dollars or so to see her doesn't mean you're entitled to bother everyone else around you who paid just as much to see her.

That girl pissed me off because she didn't know the lyrics.

I know. That's ALL I could focus on :toofunny: I think she was on a lot of d--gs or something tho, so i guess we can cut her some slack.

But legit, she never got a lyric right :awkney:

PUT YOUR PHONES DOWN MAKE EM STAWWP STAWWP!

lol, I agree, specially on a show that is being filmed, like, not even themselves are going to watch their LQ videos if there is a professional one

but to each his own I guess, Ive seen enough people dropping their phones and then moving everyone to look for them with another phone's light :toofunny: , I sometimes take a few pics or record a fave song, but if you watch my videos sometimes they just point to anywhere but the stage, I just hold the camera up, idc about the screen

but that girl that has Gaga 2 feet away while looking at the camera, thats just wrong
