PUT THE PHONES DOWN!

I love this thread (even though it's in news omg).

I learned my lesson at the first MB I went to when I was literally recording every single thing on my phone and when the show was over I realized "oh wait I don't even remember the ****ing concert I just remember looking at it through my phone" so I held the motto of 'Put Your Phones Down, Paws Up' for the longest time and didn't use my phone at all at my other Gaga shows.

And I loved her speeches and position on technology and social media at SXSW. I hope it does stick with fans at the ArtRave because I would love to make more friends and memories there than pictures or videos.

But not many people will tho.

I don;t mind so long no iPad/any tablets nor Laptop brought to the venue to record stuffs.

That's too much.

I agree 100%, pisses me the **** off every time I go to a concert. I am on the floor for her show I am going to in May. I can guarantee some idiots will have their phones up the entire damn concert. MESS.

Honestly if you feel the need to post **** all over social media just for validation you are pathetic and need to get an ACTUAL life.

How bout some self confidence. People need to stop relying on external validation and validate THEM ****ING SELVES.

I agree! It's so distracting! Whenever I see phones popping up in front of me, pinching in and out, it pulls me OUT of Gaga's performance. Just like when you're in the movie theater, and someone in front of you uses their phone. The light from the screen pulls out out of the movie right away. It's a distraction, and it's not fair to both the audience and the performer.

I don't really see the problem,

Ya know when I go to a concert I snap a few pics and vids here and there mostly for the fact that I want to remember all the fun I had while I was there. Sure I see the problem with people having their phones out the ENTIRE time but here and there isn't a problem

I wouldn't go to a concert and record it, I don't even generally take pictures but some people genuinely like to experience the concert like that.

I don't understand the obsession some people have with collecting audio remixes and rare posters and such but that is part of the experience for some people. Some people legitimately gain satisfaction and joy from being able to record and capture these moments.

If someone is going to enjoy the concert more by recording it and being able to replay it back whenever they wish then it is their prerogative.

When I went to The Monster Ball in vegas I was on the floor as well, second row. So she was pretty close on numerous occasions. She definitely at a couple points full on said "put your ****ing phones down and dance". Basically wanting people to just be in the moment.

Calm your actual farm. People can do what they want at a concert they paid money to attend. Whether you use a phone or not, it's up to you.

Okay. Now I have made this post I would like to explain myself a little more.

I used to make this mistake, but now I do limit myself to a few 15 second videos and photos.

I'm just saying. People should be allowed to do what they want at a concert. I won't watch through my phone at a concert, but I will get it out and record for a few seconds during my favourite songs. Because I want something to hold onto after the show's over.

Tbh if I were that close to Gaga I would have to snap a pic just because...I mean that doesn't happen every day. But I agree, when I go to artRAVE I'm going to stay off my phone/camera and enjoy the show. I'll probably snap a few pics when she poses at the end of a song just because it's my first time seeing her, but I'm not going to let it get in the way of the show!

A GREAT testimony! Thank you. I'm glad you're aware now.
