Whispering 18,865
No. Composers and producers are credited separately. No, the other people listed are DJs, producers and a couple of composers thrown in there. Gaga wrote the majority of the lyrics to her songs. Well from what I heard she has Ghostwriters BS. If you can't tell the lyrics from her songs come from Gaga, I don't even know what to tell you. The lyrics on Gaga's songs are so obviously hers, it's impossible to miss or to think otherwise. They wouldn't credit Zedd as songwriter if he didn't write a single word.

Crash 11
Gaga already co-writes most of her material, so what would be the difference? She's responsible for writing almost all her lyrics, which is what I'm sure the thread starter was referring to. You need to calm down You can see that people are specifically credited. They wouldn't credit Zedd as songwriter if he didn't write a single word. Her previous producers- Garibay I think- already confirmed she credits almost everyone who is in the room while she writes, even if all they contributed was a comma and she also credits her producers too. I'm certain the lyrics are always almost 100% or at least 95% hers so calm down

They wouldn't credit Zedd as songwriter if he didn't write a single word. Zedd did not get called in to help with the lyrics, like songwriting teams do for other artists. He is a DJ-Producer first, who might have changed a few words to make them fit the beat better. He is not a songwriter by profession like Bonnie McKee, Kara DioGuardi or Glenn Ballard. Those are individuals who are primarily lyricists-songwriters. They do not come in to provide beats and sound production. They come in to help you write the majority of the lyrics of your song. A good producer can and will change or add words or phrases to make a song flow better in his composition, but that isn't what most people refer to when they think of a songwriter or a song writing team. You can get a songwriting credit for adding 2% of a song. (no kidding- I see it all the time) Zedd mainly provided the beats, composition and production while Gaga is mainly responsible for the lyrics. That doesn't mean that she doesn't contribute to the composition. I'm sure she does on some songs more than others, and that doesn't mean that Zedd didn't suggest a few lyric changes to fit into the composition. If you will look at all her songs on ARTPOP, that is what you will see. Gaga and then several DJs-EDM producers. They aren't coming in to write lyrics! Gaga writes the majority of the lyrics to her songs. And don't tell me to calm down.

Scotty 87
She already gets help from other people, so getting help from a professional songwriter wouldn't change my opinion nor would it get a reaction out me.
Ladle Ghoulash 23,730
One of my favorite things about Gaga is her songwriting. Songwriting is also one of her favorite things to do, so I doubt she ever would. We have forgotten our public MANNERS
Anderson123 38,256
That's what RedOne, Fernando Garibay, DJ White Shadow, Zedd, Madeon and many other people she has worked with do... Do you really think Gaga just writes a song and tells the producer to create the beats ? They both work on the lyrics and the music together.

Do you really think Gaga just writes a song and tells the producer to create the beats ? They both work on the lyrics and the music together. They don't write the lyrics, Gaga does. They really do mostly contribute the composition of the music and the production. It's what they do. They aren't songwriters, not in the traditional sense- not lyricists. Whispering 18,865
I remember one of her producers said Gaga gives them writing credit because they don't make that much from producing. I don't remember the source but I believe it was WS THR: As Gaga legend goes, she was dropped by Island Def Jam before ending up at Interscope, what was it the IDJ A&R executives didn’t get? Garibay: I'm still in contact with many A&Rs that passed on her project, and for the most part, I would say those people couldn't see it. And they’re humbled by it. It's not so much that they didn't believe it, as much as they didn’t see it. But It was really obvious to me when she came in because of the caliber of songs. And being in the industry, you know that great songwriters are hard to come by -- people that can really write genuine songs in any context, and she was able to do that. So I knew when I met her that it was going to be great. I was just trying to write as much as I could with her before she left on tour to promote her first album. THR: She’s credited as a co-writer on most songs from Born This Way, what percentage of the songwriting would you say she’s responsible for? Garibay: She doesn't need anyone to write a hit song. A lot of times, it’s 100% her. She's generous enough to give the producers who worked on this album a percentage of the songwriting for the production and whatever contributions we gave in arrangement or a few lyrical suggestions here and there.
