Yep. The way it was spoken about I thought it was going to be totally experimental and a new-ish, fresh sound. Then we got generic sounds...

I don't think it was overhyped...but the wait and false hope was just a bit unbearable haha

However, I would have loved it if it were a little more experimental...something extremely different to the generic pop songs

It wasn't over hyped, it just wasn't planned, organised and executed strategically.

I have to agree with what one person said about the wait time as well. With her injuring her hip PLUS the extra time we waited for the album, I think a lot of people were just expecting so so much. I don't think this is the last we're getting of ARTPOP though. She has a lot of stuff she *wants* to release under this name/project and if she does, all of the time waiting will make sense. That's just me speculating though.

YES :applause:

The album itself is great, I think it's just the circumstances that are responsible for its underwhelming performance.

No way, Born This Way was and she turned a lot of people off obviously with that album and afterwards... i am not trying to insult the actual album, more the hype/ego around it

In terms of quality? Definitely. My least favorite Gaga album by a mile.

In terms of the campaign? I think it was just an overall disaster.

I don't think so

I remember how mad everyone was with her silence and being out of the loop this era

Hype came from fans

And how exactly do you know that? :awkney:

1) Radio continues to support her older singles like BR and TEOG rather than play her new (already kinda dated) music

2) Electronic music is on its way out, while dance/pop/rock like TEOG or Paparazzi can remain on the air and not sound as out of place

3) Look at any iTunes chart, and it's clear that consumers much preffered TF/TFM/BTW's sounds than AP's. Most reviewers did too, as did many on this very site.

1) Applause has more support.

2) This doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the akbum will age badly though.

3)Her other albums were released on another time and where more commercially successful. Any o fher albums released now would have the same fate. The opinions of the reviewers mean nothing really

Anyway the fact that you don't like the album doesn't mean that the music is not good or as good as her previous albums.

Yes it was extremely over hyped. I'm really tired of the songs now and have already begun listening to BTW more. I thought it was amazing for a couple of weeks but i slowly got over it and i think it's her least good album.
