HernanMinogue 1
Not as much as 'Born This Way'. She hyped the "Art" too much though and honestly I see no art on "ARTPOP" forgive me monsters

elijahfan 26,065
In the end, it's not her fault if people get hyped.... :toofloppy: I mean... we're fans, there's nothing wrong in getting excited for a new Gaga record. And when the record disappoints you, it's not fair to blame it on the artist saying "Ow, I got excited for this?". Like... if you didn't like it, it's your problem. Even though I kind of agree with you when you say ARTPOP is a bit weak compared to some of her past works (listened to BTW again recently, and the difference is striking to me...), I still enjoy ARTPOP very much and I don't regret the hype we've experienced: it entertained me and kept me on my toes everyday. That's just part of being a Gaga fan: it's not just about the music, EVERYTHING about her is a piece of entertainment. As Little Monsters, I'd say the hype is part of our lifestyle. So I think it's a bit silly to say something was overhyped. If you don't wanna experience this part of the "show", then leave and come back whenever something gets released

PigInsideAHuman 1
Hmmm....I wouldn't say overhyped. I would say hyped up in the wrong places. Gaga failed to understand her audience and how to reach them. And that doesn't just mean little monsters, it also means anyone who hops on her wagon when she has a new release. All I am saying is, if you want to hype an electronic-s-xual-pop album you don't premiere a video on Dateline, or go on a plethora of shows and interviews that have no popular base. She could have done more with MTV or at least VH1 (the influenced teens). She could have done more with Bravo! early on (the gays tbh). She could have covered for magazines that are sold everywhere, not ones that are in the back aisle of a Barnes and Nobles Fashion section. She could have done more. To me, alot of the promotion was stuff only her fans would be looking for. And all her good promotion was done after the album release. SNL, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen should have all happened before the album release. SwineFest (iTunes) should have happened after album release. Half of the album was revealed months before it was out. And she should have stuck to performing her singles. She has been all over the place this era. If Dope, Gypsy, Fashion!, Venus, Swine, Sexxx Dreams, and MANiCURE aren't going to be singles....at least not singles for a while....then why the **** does she keep playing them whenever she has the chance to play her actual damn single on the radio. She has had plenty of moments in the limelight to promote her singles. Instead....she goes on some blitz of performing every other song. Mary Jane Holland and Donatella are the only songs she hasn't played live.
shaneybaby 450
I can't at all of you dying the first month it was released, and now just coz it underperformed, everyone thinks it isn good enough Let's not please. I bet TFM wouldn't be so superior if it was released instead of ARTPOP and flopped. Ya'll Stan for success and nothing less. agreed. i love ARTPOP i feel it was underhyped if anything. such a good album and doesnt get enough credit! i think it could be single choice that brought it down.
