This is the first time I've ever read that Ariana Grande is being considered / called as the new "Queen of Pop". She has yet to score a #1 hit on the world's most important singles popularity chart. Her album sales have not even crossed the 10 million mark worldwide. She's far from being a pop royalty. The likes of Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna have been named the "new Queen of Pop" by reputable media outlets, not just their fanbases (w/ Gaga being the only one so far who's named as such by Billboard, RollingStone, TIME, and Forbes, which are imo the most important ones, if one's gunning for music / entertainment royalty since they're basically about charts, pop culture, influence, and "power" respectively).

Randomly being called as "pop queen" by a handful of fans online =/= actually being named as "pop queen" by the world's biggest publications

:applause:

Remember that you are unique. Like everyone else.

I don't believe there will be a new king-queen of Pop cause Pop is not somethimg timeless and people take and give the crown like royalities. MJ was the king of Pop. So if someone comes with a career as big as his in the future he will take the crown? And then what will happen with MJ? I think that everyone makes his own legacy. MJ and Madonna lived when Pop music was at it's peak and they gained these titles as something that belongs to them, they didn't take a crown or something. Lady Gaga is not gonna become the new queen of Pop cause this has already been done, there is no empty spot that waits for her. Gaga is her own legacy. If you would ask me what Lady Gaga is I'd say that she is Andy Warhol of music and this is what she did from the beginning. (Not copying warhol, doing something similar with him but for music. I'm using his name as a starting point.)The biggest debate of all about Gaga is if what she does is real art or if she is just pretentious and this is exactly how Andy Warhol was and is still judged in art world. You see Gaga adjusts parts of of all types of art culture into commercial music. She couldn't be Mozzart or Dali or something because this type of heavy art is not commercial, it's only for a few selected people that can fully appreciate it. She takes simple ideas of art or even heavier ones (like the birth of Venus for example) and adjusts them into commercial music and visuals. That way the masses can have some experiences about art and literature. Think how many things about other types of music, older artists etc we've learned through Gaga, things that we would never search on our own. It's a taste of art for everyone, even for people that after that will go and listen to Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj for example (no offence). This is what she does, her own thing, and a very important thing.

Edit: Actually I liked this and I'm gonna make it an opinion thread.
