We know nothing about the pinkprint yet. Prism's singles are annoying as fuq. Pills n potions and Anaconda are diverse and not made to be hits (except for anaconda video) Roar is hilarious because it pretends to be serious and empowering. Anaconda is hilarious for the sake of being hilarious. Dr Luke's instrumentals are basic as fuq. Those all are opinions not facts. Critics and public see ARTPOP and PRISM equally when it comes to quality. I thought Black Widow would be a smash but for the looks of it is just another hit. It's not generic nor basic, and although that doesn't make a song good since I like it I think it's good :) I rarely like basic and generic songs (see Shake It Off which although quite nice just rubs me the wrong way about how commercial and safe it is). Duets II debuted with just under 400,000 and featured a long list of acclaimed singers, so I'm gonna go with a 100-150k estimate for Cheek to Cheek and if it's in that range or higher I will be impressed. Regardless this era is about a lot more than chart success. Obviously her least chart relevant album. Do you mean worldwide here? Duets II debuted with 179,000 copies its first week and that was three years ago. Looking at the percentage of decline in the overall album market over the past three years, 179,000 on 2011 would be like 127,000 in 2014. Considering the long list of acclaimed singers that were featured on Duets II, and all the attention the album got due to Amy Winehouse's final recording months before her death being one of those Duets, I'm not expecting C2C to get the same response from potential music buyers.
