Envi 765
Honestly, Katy could release a Jazz single it would go top 10 for sure... Why ? Just because her name sells... She's the perfect example of an artist who prefers quantity to quality. Now I'm not resentful for G.U.Y. failure... That's just Lady Gaga's name and ARTPOP things are not enough bankable anymore to be on radios. With a good radio support, G.U.Y. would have been a hit, no doubt of it ! sure it does but. it boggles me that Capitol couldn't give katy's first experimental song and make it #1 using the same formula ($0.60, remixes, and maybe radio, YT, and other streaming payola a la Rihanna) during TD era. And since the Grammys stan for success then this may get katy's first grammy ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫

Arturo 40,746
The typical monsters screaming payola when TIHWD hasn't even reached GUY's radio peak. Yet THAT wasn't payola to you guys. #45 on pop radio means nothing really and basically every pop girl single can reach that
Spartacus 4,485
Hi. Just wanted to say, we shouldn't be comparing 'TIHWD' to G.U.Y. TF/TFM was Gaga's breakout era. TD was Katy's breakout era. So, Prism is actually Katy's BTW. We should actually being comparing 'TIHWD' to 'Marry The Night'. So you can look for 'TIHWD' to enter the top 40 on iTunes. Don't be surprised if it does. -𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀™
Gypsy Life 118,907
We need 2 separate General Charts threads. One for Katy Perry and one for everyone else, because this is getting out of hand.

Spartacus 4,485
They're screaming payola cuz it's obvious. With all the hype behind 'Anaconda', 'TIHWD' is now higher than 'Anaconda' on radio already and is getting twice the spins? Please. -𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀™

TEANUS 14,970
!!! G.U.Y reached 8M of airplay and was in the 400's-500's on iTunes. TIHWD has 4M of airplay and it's close to the top 100. ACTUALLY, Gaga was close to the top 100 with 1.638M AI It was in the 400s-500s when it was stalled around 7M which meant next to no one new was hearing it each day. But when TIHWD is gaining .9M on radio that means there's more people hearing everyday. SWERVE They're screaming payola cuz it's obvious. Mills 446
Again, radio bias and blatant favouritism =/= "payola". Payolas are most common to artists or labels who aren't getting enough radio support because they're still relatively unknown. They bribe because they want to be played in order for their music to sell. It's their last resort. A mainstream superstar whose brand alone sells doesn't need payola. The fact alone that her singles are among the most played in history (and accompanied by strong digital sales and streaming) discredits the argument that her label would still need to resort to payola. And comparing the radio treatment given to a rapper like Nicki Minaj with a Mainstream Top 40 darling like Katy Perry would go nowhere. One has a portfolio of solid radio smashes comparable to Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Maroon 5, and Bruno Mars; the other one has yet to top the HOT 100 Airplay.
