I think radio stations are going to push it like no other fourth single (with such a mediocre reaction from listeners) in the history of Soundscan. Radio will get BD into the top 10 or they will die trying!

The exaggeration is real  :spin:

Find me another 4th single with updates like this one (coupled with the average listener interest) in the US. Then find me one that is barrelling up the charts, even though the last single is still in the top 3. This scenario is something that happens with second, sometimes third singles or with a song that is so undeniably a hit (iTunes explosion) due to whatever factors, that it can't be denied.

The other general music board I belong to has been trying to find another single like this one, and they can't find it. And no, these are not Gaga stans. Some of the members work in radio in some capacity, or have in the past. Members there are fans/stans of all sorts of artists and not just pop girls, but they are mostly radio/music/statistics fans. They may end up coming up with a handful of singles that compare to BD in the Soundscan era, but the fact that they are having trouble finding them tells me something right there.

Happy was #1 for 11 weeks. It had a great run! All of Me deserves a spot at the top for at least a week! It has proven itself to be a song that the majority of listeners respond favorably to, and over a long period of time.

Wonder how long it will take Problem to reach #1? :)

Fancy is going #1 next week so Problem will most likely follow in a month or so. They're very lucky there's literally 0 competition right now.

Find me a radio station that will die from playing Birthday too often first :derpga:

I think Fancy will hit #1 very soon, just needs some more Al on radio and then Problem will come and probably block it  :toofunny:

But it will be great for both of them...

I guess you don't get that "die trying" is an expression. In the US, this expression doesn't mean that one will actually die from an effort they put into trying to create a desired outcome. It is an expression that means they will exhaust all resources to their fullest extent. It means that if one fails at a particular goal or task (like BD getting to the top 10)  it won't be from a lack of extreme effort...that the person threw everything they had into making something happen.

That expression fits this circumstance.
