Guest
I don't get why no one's considering the fact that it could be (and probably is) faux fur. I've never had an issue because I've always thought it was fake. I mean, why does everyone assume it's real if she said that she wouldn't wear fur earlier on? I don't think it's real tbh. WorkBeep 0
Really though, what's the difference between wearing fur and eating meat? In this day and age you can work around eating meat, yet I bet 95% of all these people on here who are against fur still eat meat.
CroatiaGeisha 19
I still don't understand what wearing a fur coat has to do with animal abuse. It's art. "You See a Carcass, I See A Museum Pièce de Résistance" -Lady Gaga Yeah this is a logical fallacy. Just because it's art doesn't mean it can't be unethical as well. By the way what would you consider to be animal abuse?

Miel 15,009
I think most people are riled up over the fact that in general, the base fur industry is relatively horrible. I mean, we have the benefit of the doubt that maybe the designers of any of the outfits Gaga wore retrieved the fur material from a provider that got their fur ethically. But the problem? It's more than likely not the case. I'm not denying the fact that she looks beautiful- in fact, some of her fur looks are some of her best. It's just that any fur outfit reels in the unfortunate implications of the abuses of the fur industry- Gaga just happened to be pulled into that secondhand. Murdering a person and Gaga WERKING a fur coat and looking absolutely beautiful are two completely different things tho. :ARTPOP: It's a pretty wonky issue, imo. Many of the methods used for retrieving fur is actually pretty horrible (what with all the skinning and general abuse). The main issue is that a living, sentient being was treated in a manner relatively unjustifiable (none of that survivable of the fittest stuff please, that's completely inapplicable in this argument tbh). Serious question: is this an April Fool's joke? Somebody mentioned it, and after this site for the last 24 hours I trust nothing 3 points in and ready for more

Like have people watch videos on how farms raised chicks and cows to kill them and abuse them? Yet we think it is okay to eat meat. Unless someone is vegan i don't the person should talk about animal abuse or animal rights and fur. I do agree it is wrong to treat animals like that but well humans are treating humans like trash too so...
MahoTheMnstr 141
i'm aware of what a horrible human being i am for not caring about where the coats come from... i mean half of my family lived in a rach where they would kill the animals to sell them as food, so i guess i kinda lost the compassion in that area (again i'm really sorry i would never kill anything but i do looove meat) i just don't like fur in general as fashion (faux or not) i don't like how it looks.. i pass it on Gaga cause she always dresses weird :excuseme:
DrewStevens 5,249
People can like or dislike the fact that she wears fur. It's a personal opinion. Some people will say that it's not ok to wear fur, some people will say that eating meat is not ok either, and some others will say that eating any animal product is bad. Neal 768
Some of her fur looks are amazing. I don't know why, it never bothered me that she wore real fur. I'd prefer if she wore synthetic fur though.
