JonahKing 1
While this may be true for some, I think it depends on what city you're in too. In STL I was 20th in line for the Monster Pit, waited 22 hours in 5 degree and had not one single problem. Everyone was respectful and just excited and supportive. I think the bigger cities with more fans gets to be chaotic, but not all fans are like that AT ALL. I'm sorry you had a rough experience with certain people. But I think the majority of fans are fun and just love being with other fans. This!

WorkBeep 0
thats america's issue. Lol this exactly. Whenever I'm visiting the states, 80% of the people I encounter act this way.
MMXIX 51
I'm glad you mentioned this. People are so nasty.. Truly. Manners are hard to come by these days.. Ffs. You can't generalize people like this. Even though they identify themselves as Monsters doesn't mean all of them will be the best behaved. Just because some are bad doesn't mean you have to bash all of us!! If you would actually read through the post he said he was not implying that all act this way. Guilty conscious much? Girl... :excuseme:
MMXIX 51
Yes I know it's human nature, but it's interesting because I thought since they are fans of Gaga, they would be more above the influence because of what Gaga's about, yet they're not.And thank you for those backing me up. You've experienced what I have. It's not just generalization You would think so. True fans know how to act... When that Marc monster or whoever the f*ck he is got popular it was kinda a red flag. No need to be ashamed to be a monster though... There is a difference between the fans and these pathetic kids :kisses:

I meant to say, in life people will always be the way OP is talking about! So to generalize and say 'some little monsters' seems pointless to me, it should be 'some people' imo...However I am not the OP so it doesn't matter what I think.. feelitinmybones 0
What you are describing unfortunately is human nature. People are self centered animals that usually only think about what they want, what they need, and are impatient to get what they get. It takes a lot of experience and maturity to water that part of human nature down and to find more control over one's self. Those people are out there, I bet there are plenty within the very venue you were complaining about. The thing is, those people are the quiet ones, the ones that hardly get noticed outside of their circle of friends. They get Gaga's message, because they experienced the pains she was referring to and find themselves in her music. I wouldn't say all monsters are like that. Some just need more growing up to do. I remember middle school was very similar in the events you were describing. However as people grow and mature into high school and beyond, you learn who developed a higher level of thinking and emotional intelligence as well as IQ and who has more work to do. If you can find within yourself the capability of acting the way the people you were referring to, you might think if you were held to the same standard, would someone judge you the same way? Why not build within you this change and character you seek? Those people will have to learn in their time or face life a little more bitter and a bit more frustrating if they spend their time pushing and yelling at people when they do not get their way. This. Honestly I just get seated tickets because I know I couldn't handle all the pushing and shoving. I'm sorry you had a bad experience concerning the people there, a lot of people are really self-entitled and don't consider other people at all. I mean at a Tegan and Sara concert I went to I let a shorter girl go in front of me because I was taller than her and she couldn't see behind me. Some people are just stupid and think the whole world revolves around them.

This is true, it's the cities that have all the "famous" fans that are glamorized and put on a pedestal. Most of these fans are hypocrites too because they are the MAIN ones that whine and cry when something "negative" happens online, yet they can be b---hy in person and its perfectly fine. Juanjo 2,139
"2) Fans are selfish and don't support one another. 3) Fans cheat each other for their own benefit. 4) Fans take advantage of each other. 5) Fans are blindly worshipping without depth." Replace the word "Fans" with "People" and it would still be true. It's not uncommon in churches, businesses, politics for people to have these traits. Sad, but very true. My best advice, show up and enjoy the f*ck out of the night. Words are words, don't let them get to you, and if you encounter shady fans, just ignore them. Do your thing, and make sure you enjoy the moment.
Larkin 100
Those aren't very good reasons. Have they ever been to a concert before? Basically every concert I've ever been to has been like that.
wahkeenasitka 1,995
this is a really interesting thread!! thank you all for bringing this topic up! it makes me kind of sad to read this, because I truly do see Gaga being an inspirational leader that I would hope inspires change in the lives of her fans and can help galvanize social justice issues (aside from the obvious LGBT rights)... but my sense is this has a lot to do with the nature of a idol-worshipping-fan mindset.. I'm from the West Coast and I've been a part of the West Coast Festival scene for 10 years - going to events like Burning Man, Symbiosis, Earthdance, etc.. Massive events with tens of thousands of people sometimes. But because there is never one centralized idol that everyone is going to see, and the music events are filled with a diversity of music - people aren't clamoring over each other to get close to "the star" West Coast festivals as a result are much more Community Oriented - People at events like Burning Man are all about giving to each other, spreading love, sharing resources, having wild adventures, and creating massive amounts of love & joy as a community.. The community minded experience of festivals is the primary aspect of festival culture that I find redeeming; deep relationships are built out of people who go to events and gatherings.... It's not competitive, it's much more supportive. I hope Gaga comes to Burning Man some year.
Skins 40
That is awful that AFTER security RIGHTFULLY kicked them to the back that they complain to management and GET THEIR WAY because "they are the known ones" Ewww!! just ewww. I have witnessed first hand a few of the group in Vegas and lemme say: rude asses. When I'm in line and they try to cut my ass is going into defense mode. That is such bull.
