The song does not make sense to the average listener. If she wants to remain pop, she has to get it together lyrically. I'm not saying she has to dumb it down but she does need to make her songs more relatable.

And lyrically, Gaga has declined. By quite a bit.

I think G.U.Y is more clever than that. The G.I.R.L line just seems like she was trying a bit hard to make it stand for something that makes sense and it isn't as seamless as the title line is.

Totally agree. This line makes me cringe.

There are better lyrics on this album. In fact, I will say that her lyrics have gotten better from one album to the next. Silly and provocative as always, but more daring, and more fully developed.
