It absolutely will, it's just a question of when.

Is it even Platinum there?  :toofunny:

No, it's sold like 200,000 there.

100k away from Platinum. Let's hope the 10 dates she's doing there can push it to like 250k and make it get ceritifed Plat (300k) for shipments :p

shipments sis

If those are indeed shipments / reported sales for 2011 alone released by the label, then Vivendi's report that it sold 6.8 million in 2011 might actually be the true actual sales then, counting all markets wherein the album was released. The 8 million figure published via press releases by the end of 2011 and the one reported by Vivendi to its stockholders for its 2011 integrated report has a difference of 1.2 million units. That's a notable disparity.

Here's the thread comparing the stats from Vivendi and Mediatraffic.

Definitely not this year. At the rate it's going, by the end of 2015, perhaps. And that's still assuming this album wouldn't stop selling in spite of zero promotion by that time.

The sources which Mediabase uses are reliable and legit. However, the numbers they're releasing aren't "official". The only ones which could be considered "official" are from the labels themselves and IFPI as the sole trade association of the worldwide music industry. And when it comes to the debate of which numbers should be referred in history (i.e. the one which the media and other music stakeholders should use today and beyond), the "official" ones always prevail. Almost all major artists, if not all, past or present, have benefited to this treatment - from Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson to Beyonce. And Gaga wouldn't and shouldn't be an exception.

I think we should stop saying that numbers from labels are shipments, the sales everyone takes for ALL artists are those of labels, y wouldn't do the same for Gaga?  I mean it's giving her more difficulties obviously next to others!

so The Fame = 15 millions

The Fame Monster (EP) = 5 millions

Born this Way = 8 millions

ARTPOP = 2.5 millions

the sales of Katy Perry or whoever you want that people are considering are the shipments so let's do the same for Gaga!!

Exactly the point I've been raising! The only official numbers are from the labels themselves, not some third party source run by mere chart enthusiasts who aren't being regulated anyway by the industry itself, so why bother choose the latter? The debate of sales and shipments only resides within the online community, whilst the numbers being released by the labels are the ones being discussed publicly and within the stakeholders that matter the most anyway. When press releases state that [insert an artist's name here] sold this particular number of albums, regular readers not familiar with pop forums wouldn't regard it as "shipments". They'd take it as what it says to be - sales. And it's the norm we have since time immemorial.
