StarryNight 10,103
I know this is a chart discussion thread, but we DON'T NEED comment like : omg we are flopping, omg she was so big in 2009, omg katy is a queen she is slaying and many many many more... Grow up, Gaga will always be different. :trootea: new avi pic, again
VforVendetta 2,024
I do so too, but she doesn't have enough time for that AT THE MOMENT. And like people said all the time only a week ago, promotion with no radio support has no big long-term effect. Look at I Luh Yo Papi.. It's useless to perform right now. The label is doing exactly what they have to: Get big stations to spin -> get small stations to spin -> build stability at a higher position (Top 30? Top 20?) -> Promote -> Get radio to spin it for a longer time. I just hope she does some radio interviews in Australia, Italy, Germany and France. That's where she could use them the most.. Give every relevant Italian radio station besides RTL a hyped interview tbh Look my post above.
Luc 4,775
I still think that two performances can push GUY in the top 50 and combined the with the video create some buzz and start the whole rusty wheel up. Didn't people complain only a week ago that a TV performance would be useless, because it has no radio support yet? Let it get about 30M AI based on her name alone, which is very possible. Then they could start promo like an iTunes banner, advertisements on the Internet or something along those lines - not performances yet. GUY should shoot up a whole lot of positions, and stabilize at a higher position. THEN she should do a TV performance to perhaps get the song into the Top 10 or Top 15 on iTunes, and radio should start giving it big updates and some stations might put it into PR like they did with Burn. ViviLittleM 3
@LadyGagaNowNet: Lady Gaga is apparently set to appear and perform on the "Late Show with David Letterman" tomorrow night. Probably pre-recorded.

As long as Gaga does performances I am OK. As long as everything is under control and people aren't having break downs and meltdowns now in Gaga's team I dont worry. The problem is if that was the promotion and if radio isn't convinced to add the song.
Whispering 18,865
Is prefer them doing half of those interviews and doing more traditional Gaga promo, aka perform. Rihanna does that kind of promo, Gaga has another gift, her talent. I never said that Gaga isn't working, I said that I'd prefer another kind of promo. At least I hope that the interviews will have some effect on radio in the next weeks. Gypsy and Sexxx Dreams in my opinion are sure hits. (at least they were before all this mess). Perform on what? Fallon? That didn't make a significant difference. Performances are short term, temporary boost, if you even get much of one. They've done the performances in the past this era and the majority of those performances haven't made a significant difference. At this point, they are concentrating on a few TV spots, and radio play, They even did banners, for an album that was down around the BB 150 and had been out for 4 months. That almost never happens! BTW, nothing is a sure fire hit! And any song coming from an album that had been out for months and had fallen that close to dropping out of the BB 200, was going to be a harder sell to radio stations. Many built themselves up, with completely unrealistic expectations and now are in meltdown mode because those unrealistic predictions, they all made up in your minds, aren't coming true. Gaga, nor her team, aren't to blame here! Many fans have themselves to blame for making these wild scenarios up in their heads in the first place! monketsharona 60,032
That meltdown Please guys that's not because she 'failed' with ARTPOP, she won't be back one day with a huge amount of success and a brillant album... People who say she's over because ARTPOP is not asuccessful are haters and haters always gonna hate ! Even Madonna, Michael Jackson and Kylie Minogue had albums which underperformed... Most recently Rihanna also had lows in her sales. Miley is not selling so much as well... You can be sure Adele and Katy are not going to be as successful as they are nowadays. Everybody's career has highs and lows...

Jonathanholland 5,254
She came up with the idea of ART and POP in may 2011 she worked so hard and put so much energy into all this, she can't just throw it away  Yes i understand, but she isn't in a great position. She can't always just do what she wants ( ). She has to come up with something more relatable and save experiments like puting ART+POP together for later. So when it flops it can't harm her career anymore. Even Born This Way was quite risky so early in her career. But the decision is hers tho Before there was love, there was silence

I think all the performances had theirs impact, some bigger, some smaller. Also in the lower parts of iTunes the impact is much bigger than when the song is in the top 50. Also I am very positive and I didn't have a meltdown. I am called delusional for how positive I am sometimes. :MANiCURE:
