leoj 2 Posted April 5, 2014 Share Posted April 5, 2014 You guys are crazy.. it's pretty funny because in 2009.. when love game or.. even PF was released as a single.. they didn't necessarily rush up the charts right after the single or video release.. it was a gradual thing.. it is only when she dropped that formula, that she started selling less records.. this formula was dropped with MTN.. sometimes you gattah let a song live for a while.. and catch on.. look at lights.. look at everything from adele.. guy is a good song.. DWUW had it had a video.. would have gone top 10.. period.. it had the streaming and the sales.. it just needed streaming from a vid, and it also could have pushed it enough to become a double plat hit.. The whole stain of ARTPOP= failure, it's a flop etc, will always cling to this album, just because the media bombarded it that way and to many people it became true. I mean if you read it on the internet it must be right, right? The album barely had a fighting chance. Yeah, but this notion is beyond the media's culpability (or the internet's) for the lack of a better word. It's the fact that ARTPOP is her first album which failed to do many things, chart-wise, so far. Lack of chart-toppers on both Pop Songs and HOT 100 magnifies it being a chart underperformance. First major release to possibly not hit 1 million will always be seen as a "failure" in general. The source of all these unflattering news surrounding ARTPOP is the album itself. It usually takes a while for radio stations to work songs (especially third singles) into their rotation. Oh...and the AI will probably go down on Tuesday and for a couple of days, due to it going up Sunday and Monday because of extra spins from the Top 40 countdown show.
