monketsharona 79,344
A year ago, RedOne said that the magic wasn't really there. I think they tried it, but that the song simply weren't as good... Now his speach has changed ('We made the history. A lot more to come !!') so I guess we haven't heard their last songs together. Let's hope he will be back soon. We really miss him. VforVendetta 2,024
Oh I see we agree then Gypsy is extremely radio friendly unlike the harsh sounding GUY which reminds a lot of Judas (ignoring the controversy its production was very harsh for casual listeners). They will definitely give it a chance. The media perhaps...the general public needs a hit for ACTII to have momentum (with Gypsy). Winning a Grammy for a jazz album they never heard of won't make them want to buy ACTII. They will listen the Jazz album though. Anyway C2C is mainly for the critics and the Grammy's. I still believe that the public can embrace it. If they have made a sound that connects Jazz with today like Back to Black it can do very well. If they made a classic Jazz sound that belongs in the 50's then it is mainly for the critics and the Grammy's, it won't have big commercial success. I said it better Never. :queenga:
Luc 4,775
I don't know if a saxophone would fit with the folk sound I'd suggest including the catchy I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm even after the first chorus. Just to get it in people's heads. That's true about the media being able to hype the public after all they did make her seem like a flop when she really wasn't. What the media and the public love more than brining down a star is a good comeback story I hope this happens soon for Gaga. What the media does all the time is a self-fulfilling prophecy. They call somebody the Queen, hype it up and exaggerate how successful it is -> it becomes extremely successful (Katy and Beyoncé). They call it a flop in its first few days and give it bad reviews -> it becomes unsuccessful (Gaga). the I'm I'm I'm a Gypsy is so annoying :givuep: OMG A FIFA COMMERCIAL WITH GYPSY get that European Latin American Asian Australian SMASH HIT
Bye 3,947
Not a Piano mid tempo with a few edm elements BEING OVERPRODUCED only Gaga fans I can't feignwrngsegjsrgnjgksgnr Yeah, I guess not liking the production is one thing but it is NOT overproduced. I didn't like much acoustic Gypsy when she debuted it but the studio version is much better because it sounds less like she's screaming. They will listen the Jazz album though. I don't think Tony's target audience is the same that buys Back to Black. Besides Gaga can't rely on that for her future pop records whose audience rarely crosses over with jazz audience. However, as Luc said, the media and Grammy wins might help Gaga.

As for promo for C2C: New Years special, GRAMMY performance, Christmas/Holidays special, etc... it could potentially outsell ARTPOP.

I felt a bit weird when I listened to Gypsy the first time (the Germany performance) and I was like .. what's the melody of that song ? It's only Gaga screaming and then the studio made me **** my panties the 'TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT' is painful to my ears I knew it that you are referencing that part Yes the production is the most heavy in this part but listen just to the instrumental and you'll see how spot on it is with Gaga's vocals. When you listen to TONIIIIGHT you can't even hear the production apart from the base, while when you listen just to the instrumental there are really nice elements But overall the production is really radio friendly I think .. It's smooth ..

As for commercial success maybe Tony's target audience isn't today's young people but dot forget that Gaga is with him AND don't forget that they have some of the best in the Jazz industry that work on this album. Lets wait for the result.

Mariano 958
I still can't decide if I want ACT 2 or not. If I want it this year or not (well I do but she can't promote it this year). If I want the Space performance's hype to be used for a new project that will be more exciting for the GP .. :( I really hope they have plans because we can plan everything here on GGD but the important thing is that Bobby and Gaga are planning it behind the scenes Sad part is that they don't think like us (Troy used to, I am sure he was always hungry for success) but Gaga and all her millions .. they are doing just fine with ARTPOP's success and artRave is everything that Gaga wants - performing in sold out arenas / stadiums .. monketsharona 79,344
Gypsy is the only one track that could save her a*s. I'm pretty sure the GP will be there for this song. If Gypsy is not next single I think she should give up this album, do her tour and prepare her next record.. To be honest I think there are 90% chances that Interscope does not want a fourth single after what happened with DWUW and the G.U.Y. flop...

WarriorPrince 1
My hopes for ARTPOP by the end of the tour (assuming it ends on November 24 in France) U.S - 800k Canada - 160k U.K - 300K Japan - 250k France - 100k Germany - 100k Australia - ~50k Total from Mediatraffic - 2.2M If she keeps selling an average of 2k per week in the US by the end of the year she will be at ~774K so it's possible if we get Gypsy as a single. I'm not sure about the others but the Japan numbers seem too high for someone who is stuck at 193K while selling less than 500 copies a week.
