I completely disagree with that to be honest.

1st of all, I stick with my opinion about Applause being a better choice, plus I think the Applause video is MUCH better than G.U.Y. I know GUY was a lot more expensive and it was shot at a great location, but Applause is more visually appealing and a lot more effective. I know that's not gonna be a popular opinion here and that's ok, I'm talking about the general public.

As for AURA, as I've said many times I think it would have been huge for her. It is different and stands out from anything being played on the radio right now which is why it would have stood out instead of getting lost in the shuffle. Gaga needed a WTF song and WTF moment to shake things up. People would here Aura, say WTF at first but it would have got stuck in their heads and cought on. Trust me, it would have been her next Bad Romance.

Eh, I feel like the GP thinks Gaga is a giant mess of WTF right now.

She needed something to normalize and tone her out before going that different again.

BR was much more lyric-friendly than Aura. The line "gorgeousness of my face" is too laughable. The chorus would have been well-received, but otherwise I don't think it would have been a good reaction

She should release Summer Boy next?

I've always thought that it had hit potential. The Fame was an embarrassment of riches in terms of potential singles. She could have milked it for 3 more hits. Starstruck, BBB, Summerboy, maybe Paper Gangsta.

But then we wouldn't have gotten TFM when we did and who knows how everything would have played out.

Economy

Because the era leading up to GUY has been bland and few and far between by GP standards and backlash from DWUW probably pushed her opinion down with the GP, so people are just not willing to give her a chance right now. She pushed too much too soon with ARTPOP and her "message". If GUY had been the first or second single this era would have been completely different.

Poeple just don't want Gaga right now.

Radios are not the problem... how many people even listen to the radio for music anymore?

They don't play it, because people don't want it. It isn't gaining traction. It still might, but unlikely without promo.

Sure some stations might actively hate on it, but it isn't like there is some secret radio cult who decides that every station should boycott a song. It's not some anti-Gaga conspiracy- if you believe that then you need to get a life.  :fan:

THIS! the song isnt flopping because radio doesnt play, it works the other way around, radio doesnt play it because the song is flopping

If a song has a low AI per spin (and its AI to spin ratio is one of the very lowest in the radio charts, half of songs with same amount of spins) that automatically tells radio stations that people arent liking it...

Also, a song thats in the top 30 in airplay but pathetically God knows how far down on itunes also gives you an idea that people really, really dont care for it

And to be fair, considering its AI to spins is SOOO LOW it shows stations are playing it more than the public demands so they are actually giving it more chance than youd expect

Blaming radio is just pressed fans trying to find someone to blame to feel better tbh :coffee:
