Luc 4,775
Do you think the tour might bring more sales to ARTPOP, at least to go 750k? Perhaps. I think it's gonna reach 750k eventually, easily. It'll keep selling 3k a week for about 3 months which already is enough for like 725k. 25k isn't that much tbh, and she'll get there. Perhaps they'll even do extra big discounts (99c on Amazon? ) anything for the 1M mark tbh. Ideas: 1. Discount guy NOW 2. Radio deal with KIIS, KAMP, Z100, WKTU 3. iTunes banner 4. Youtube commercials 5. A performance (or two, depending on the amount of viewers) in the US, 1 in South Korea, 1 in Japan, 1 in Australia. UK isn't necessary; she already sold out the UK leg (well, almost) so promotion for the single doesn't have that much use. I've been thinking more and more how she could use KPOP marketing tactics, like a Comeback stage (high-profile TV performance to start a new era with lots of hype), more ideas to make audiences more interactive and interesting, singles geared towards a specific audience (teenage girls, gay guys, upper/middle class women). They wont do anything like that. Gaga could have had as many no 1 s as Katy if they would have really want it. But they are ok with beeing no 2 if that means she sells. They wont care that an album is platinum and make it 99c to go there. They will try to sell it to go there, but not the rest.

Obviously they do, it's marketing. Gaga couldn't have gotten as many #1s as Katy because her music isn't as catchy and simply the only way Gaga could've gotten a #1 this era was by releasing the song in a time when sales generally are low with low competition and hype and video release and a performance all in the same week and perhaps pre-order too. But they didn't do that, because in the long run that's not a good idea (see: BTW song, which only sold 3.9M in the US while having first-week sales of what? 800k?). Gaga couldn't have a post-album #1 because the materal isn't catchy, doesn't appeal to many formats, and she's Lady Gaga.

Paparazzi, Bad romance, Telephone could have been no 1 if they would have really want it.

G.U.Y. is not doing anything. And no, I'm not attacking her before people go ape****. It doesn't take rocket science to realize shes doing poorly with this single.
