Pure Adrenaline 1,518
What do we think will happen with the impact date on tuesday?something close to nothing :fan: It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
Luc 4,775
Some radio stations will add the song. That's about it. It usually takes a while for radio stations to work songs (especially third singles) into their rotation. Oh...and the AI will probably go down on Tuesday and for a couple of days, due to it going up Sunday and Monday because of extra spins from the Top 40 countdown show. Where's the logic in that? It's a 7-day chart, not a daily one. So if it gets a big update on Saturday, it will affect the next Saturday's update. We got a +1M update at some point last week, when was that? VforVendetta 2,024
Six months isn't huge and it is going to happen again after the tour. Everyone might as well prepare for it, because it is completely normal and her label will insist on it. It is going to happen.6 Months in ok but I'm afraid it will be much more. VforVendetta 2,024
You know what idea I hate, let's say GUY gets top 20, Gypsy would presented and get to top 10. The whole stain of ARTPOP= failure, it's a flop etc, will always cling to this album, just because the media bombarded it that way and to many people it became true. I mean if you read it on the internet it must be right, right? The album barely had a fighting chance. MTE.
VforVendetta 2,024
Yeah, but this notion is beyond the media's culpability (or the internet's) for the lack of a better word. It's the fact that ARTPOP is her first album which failed to do many things, chart-wise, so far. Lack of chart-toppers on both Pop Songs and HOT 100 magnifies it being a chart underperformance. First major release to possibly not hit 1 million will always be seen as a "failure" in general. The source of all these unflattering news surrounding ARTPOP is the album itself. Have it sold impressively, the media bombardment will be naturally positive. They merely react. I don't think so, they bombarded the album with negativity even before its release. The biased reviews, the Katy vs Gaga comparisons, The claims that Gaga is desperately trying to promote her album etc. Lets be honest. The media had decided the fate of ARTPOP before its release. If only Applause were released a week later and put up for pre-order I mean, nobody would've cared if the single ended up leaving the Top 10 after 4-6 weeks. That's what most, including media, expected. But everybody expected her to sell like 600k first-week with the single. Had they released it with promo, a better radio deal (assuming it was a bit messed up thanks to the leak), with video, with it being put up for pre-order a few weeks beforehands.. It'd have at least debuted at #1 on iTunes and done like 400k first-week..

I meant a spin increase...don't know why I said AI. (maybe it is the migraine medicine. lol ) Sorry about that!

Even if the song was released the way it was, if it had a better radio deal ans there was no Katy Perry that week the song would have peaked in the top 2 and it woukd also too the ITunes chart in the US. Also the song would have sold much more the first two weeks, even 400K more combined.(Applause had an amazing chart run, its problem was the debut numbers). That number would be very important for now considering that the song would be already at 2.8M+ now in the US and it would end around 3.2M+ in the end of the era (considering that the song would have also received even better airplay). Also the original VMA performance seemed as one that could have won the show, that would have changed a lot the scenery. Maybe. She might be ready for a longer break. Priorities in life do shift as you get older.I just think that Gaga needs more time to create a new album and organize an Era. This is why think she must reelase even 5 singles from this Era, claim and hit and end it that way. It will help much more.

It's about peaks, fulfilling expectations. Frontloadedness for this single would've been very effective, because the media wouldn't have shredded the song apart. The total sales are for us and they mean that more people have bought the song.
