No, you can use the 'Taking Off' chart by Mediabase to see adds before then. Stations can add whenever they want, and more added Birthday than GUY in the past rolling week.

There will be a handful of adds that come in early. Songs will have a few stragglers like that, but the official day when the overwhelmingly large  majority of Pop stations send in the songs they are adding to their playlist is on Tuesday.

We are talking about officially adding a song to a radio station playlist, right? You aren't referring to "adding" a song as simply spinning the song on the station, right? Sorry to ask, but you never know on this thread. ;)

If that is what you were referring to, then we will know the final total of Pop adds at the end of today.

I like how people were reassuring themselves saying that GUY will fall because of new releases but when it actually happens the meltdowns still ensue.

It's legitimitely falling, though. It's a combination of falling + new releases, so it looks even worse.

Why are we focused on the ONE other pop girl in top 20 itunes, when 17 20 top songs are by males?

That's either the problem, or it means Gaga may be attractive option to balance things out in playlists.

Exactly! Because people here are too obsessed with their Diva Wars  and the real world doesn't care about that silliness. Only a tiny percentage of the pop listeners are involved in this Pop Girl War mess or even care.

You are correct, there has been a major shift over the past couple of years to Indie and Alt. Rock sounding music and R&B is slowly taking back the space that the Rap collabs stole a few years back. That means we are experiencing a wave of male dominated music. Pop radios are trying to push the girls- just look at Demi's Neon Lights- but buyers and listeners are preferring the male solo artists and bands, in singles and albums.

This.

No reason for meltdowns of course, but many thought GUY would do better... Although I think the 2M views from the US elicited the most meltdowns...
