redstreak, I thoroughly believe most of the people here are high school students who have stopped reading. And they don't do much in the way of writing.

But really, even if it is smart and well thought out, it really isn't something anyone would read, because madonna has been accused as much copying as Gaga, and really, Madonna isn't really the only wild artist of her time.

And not to mention, technically, Gaga has been accused of stealing from a lot of people. Miss Mosh, underground burlesque artists, grace Jones, and just a lot of people, not just Madonna, so I believe any Madonna only logic really needs to be thrown to the side, like trash.

I think Gaga took less inspiration from Madonna than you think. Her inspirations seem to come more from Bowie, Bruce, Freddie and Grace Jones. I think people say Gaga is inspired by Madonna because they have a hard time grasping the idea that a woman may have been more inspired by male artists. I'm not saying she wasn't inspired by Madonna at all, just that I think it's a lot less than many would have people believe. It's really become quit easy for people to compare female artists in the industry.

I think there are a lot of similarities between the two women. It is just too bad that things had to go sour and I really feel it was Madonna that got bitter though Gaga isn't totally innocent.

 

However, they are both strong Italian-American women who came up musically in New York and I even see a similarity in their careers, even where Gaga's is at currently.

She has also stolen from MANY people (Marlene Dietrich,Marilyn Monroe,Jane Mansfield,etc.) and yet she's able to get away with it.

Other than that,there is no viable evidence that Gaga has copied Madonna to me,besides the gap in her tooth at the end of BTW(homage and Gaga actually had a gap in her teeth before she was famous).
