Edit: even though I do disagree about no songs on ARTPOP being able to connect with the mass audience. But if GUY doesn't do it, he's probably right that none of them can. I mean G.U.Y is an amazing song, DWUW was amazing too. The problem is Gagas image. As I said even if she releases a song as good as Poker Face it would not do very well. Gaga became very hated and a lot of people are just turned off. I mean yes Beyonce flopped with 4 but she has never been hated by the GP. Thats why it was easy for her to rebound with an album thats not even her best. No song on Beyonce is as good as Single Ladies,let alone Halo or Sweet dreams. The problem with Gaga is her image as I said. Its just too gay to like her or listen to her songs besides Poker Face, Just Dance, Telephone. No one can convince me that G.U.Y doesnt sounds like a smash hit. But if it doesnt do well it will be because Gaga is singing it. If it was Rihanna for example it would slay. Because its cool to like her. Or if Gaga had released it 3 years ago it would have been a #1 smash. So I want to say that even if Gaga writes for a #1 it will be difficult because of her image. A break would not help. What will change during the break? Nothing. If she takes a break then what? People would be like 'oh Lady Gaga is gone. Let me like her and buy her songs again'? No. It would be the same IMO. Yes, ARTPOP is not her best work but what makes you think that if her next album is as good as The Fame Monster it would be embraced as well as TFM? If Gaga looks beautiful in her videos, makes songs everyone can relate to( Just Dance, Poker Face, Telephone), stops being preachy then evetything will be fine. Yes I know even tho people thought she wad hot in the Poker Face video, but back then her music was better and nothing sounded like her songs on the radio. She was outstanding.
