Oh god, that's really true! Her face blew up for a bit of time out of nowhere during the Fame perfume launch.

Remember there were photos of her getting off a plane and her face was super swollen? I honestly thought it was coke bloat at the time but hmm...

Yeah! Taking these daily were probably what got her through those shows and she probably took them after her surgery too.

And I have to point out that, even after you stop taking these, your face remains swollen for quite a while.

Sounds so rough... sorry to hear that you've actually experienced this through your mom, though.

Her face didn't look off during the Applause era, did it?

It is, it's a super strong medicine and it can change lots of things in your body. Thankfully it only got a her face to plump up a bit, and can now walk normally and is no longer in pain.

Gaga's face did look fuller, actually, especially when she has a clean face and a cap in the MV, but I do think it's more noticeable when she has bangs, like when she went FameGa at the VMA's and when she went to H&M to promote ARTPOP's release.

I also think the swelling is what made her start relying more on taping in the last few months.

They're not face fillers. As i explained in a thread earlier today, Gaga's face looks swollen from taking corticosteroids.

Since she had her surgery for synovitis (her hip injury), she probably started a heavy treatment for lupus that involve corticosteroids, it's a very powerful medicine, and one of it's side effects is that it alters the metabolism redirecting fat to the face and torso.

That's why she looks different, because she's treating her lupus. Not face fillers.

Oh, this makes so much more sense now! Thank you!

Okay. The nose difference is just make up - easy to notice.

HOWEVER, there is a huge difference in her cheekbones. Can it be just makeup? I am NOT a fan that likes to nitpick things like that, but there IS a difference there.

Like, A LOT.

Yes, I remember that interview.

But borderline positive does not means it's negative. And I understand that you think my statements are false, specially since Gaga herself said she had no symptoms back then.

However, as I said, her syntovitis is closely associated with it and the fact that it deteriorated to the point she had to have surgery makes me think she does have lupus.

And even so, the corticosteroids can still be used as treatment for her hip since it's a anti-inflammatory and taking it, even for a few months makes your face look fuller for a very long time after stopping with the meds.

Borderline positive doesn't mean she's positive either. It means she's very close, but doesn't have it (at least at the time of the interview).

Anyway, I think Gaga's "puffiness" has been similar since BTW era. She seemed to be at a much healthier weight during BTW, than in The Fame era, in my opinion.
