tokyodisko 0
Moderate success, yes. Yes and no are too black and white.
albert 108
Better than DWUW worse than Applause.
JustPokeHerFace 2,564
It has the potential to, and the video looks like one that can help the song achieve or surpass Applause's success.
Stefani328 321
It has a lot of potential but who knows at this point.
Popero22 8
Idk tbh -_____- at first I liked G.U.Y but it got boring quickly. I'm scared that'll happen with the GP. It's definitely not her strongest song...
iloveit123 130
Anything is possible but i think the public needs to be in a different mindset toward her - the general public that is, not her hardcore fans. What will bring a massive hit for her again will be a surprise moment, most likely on another album. HOWEVER, the surprise could come on one of these singles as well, but i don't think the general public is digging the 'ARTPOP' songs so much. The album is weirder, especially the techno edge on some of the songs like G.U.Y.
DontDoubtDavid 1,191
I voted no because I've lost hope in the GP's love for her, but I really hope it is.
Matt 460
I think it has a lot of potential to be a big hit. But whether it is or not, all that matters is that we will all get to enjoy the single and the video.
FGGrayson 9,670
I really don't care anymore, i love Applause & DWUW and they didn't performed well so... idk, i'm just gonna enjoy the NEW VIDEO, im so ****ing ready, Music Not Bling 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻
Bloody hooker 6,445
Yes, if it's promoted properly and she does a lot of radio interviews to get the stations to play the song. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.
KrisFromMars 9
I just feel it was a poor single choice considering the mess of DWUW era. She needs a good smash single to come back and slay all our lives and the charts.
Mills 446
Doubtful over a "big comeback" if you meant a chart-topping smash single whose digital sales may replicate the successes of JD, PR, BR, and to an extent even BTW. Nonetheless, G.U.Y. is among the last few tracks on ARTPOP (along with Gypsy and Sexxx Dreams) that could somehow bring back substantial interest to this era. It may not sound like a huge hit, but it's among the closest to potentially become a hit enough to boost the much needed additional sales of ARTPOP. Mills 446
I really don't care anymore, i love Applause & DWUW and they didn't performed well so... idk, i'm just gonna enjoy the NEW VIDEO, im so ****ing ready, Music Not Bling Applause performed rather well in the midst of heavy competition back then. A two-million seller who brought Gaga one of her longest stints in the top 10 of the HOT 100 and at the same time earned her highest peak on radio in terms of audience impressions. It isn't a smash, but it's obviously a single that performed really good. On the other hand, I've to agree with you regarding DWUW. Even with the non-release of a music video, which is among Gaga's strongest points, DWUW received a lukewarm reception despite being promoted thrice in three of the biggest platforms one could find in the US. Guest
I'm fine with it just being a moderate bit at least. I think this era's moderate hits/reception will help set her up for bigger hits with her next album, probably not Act II, but her next non-ARTPOP album. I still think that title is swaying people from buying the album for some reason.
