- Never really got into Marry The Night

- I love the music video/choreography for Telephone. Especially when she dances next to Beyonce!

I think Applause is one of the best ( or the best ) song of ARTPOP. Such a grower.

 

 

The swinefest versions of the songs were 10000000 times better. She butchered s-x dreams ( album version ) and its hit/ single potential. Album versions of ARTPOP and swine are so ****ing underwhelming

- Gaga cares about the GP and charts. a lot.

hahaha I did too! I mean, I am sure there is some truth, but she does seem to exaggerate it for feels. The way she squeezes her eyes shut to push the tears down her face seems like an intentional act sometimes.

-I don't know how I feel about the above shot of the artRave stage. I'll reserve my opinion until we get full shots, though.

 

-artRave (album opener concert) was kind of... not bad, but kind of sub-par. Some good here and there (the first two performances were intense), but for the most part it was kind of deflating.

 

-Dope might be the best song on the album.

 

-I don't want G.U.Y. to be the next single. Or a single. It's okay, but I don't really like it.

 

-Aura on the album is just... I don't know, something as little as a vocal change kind of spoiled the whole song.

 

-I'm actually really excited for Cheek to Cheek.

 

-I was really looking forward to the Elton John collab on the album.

 

-I want Gaga to further step her music away from top 40 constraints. I feel like ARTPOP, as good of an album as it is, was a step back in this context.

 

-I didn't like her The Fame 2.0 wig during ARTPOP's promo. It only brought to light how much people romanticize TF/M.

 

edit: Alan123 totally reminded me- Americano and The Queen are some of her best songs ever.

- Paparazzi is overrated. Both the song and the VMA performance.

 

- I love Americano, Hair, Fashion of His Love, The Queen, Again Again and Electric Chapel.

 

- Telephone music video is overrated, and I don't care if she finishes the trilogy.

 

- ARTPOP disappointed me. I knew this would be terrible as soon as I listened to Applause, but I hoped it'd be like Born This Way, where the lead single is the "marijuana to the heroine of the album", but it had more disappointing songs.

 

- Sex Dreams, Venus and Gypsy are overrated. Most of the lyrics on the album are embarrassing. (Donatella, Jewels N Drugs, Venus)

 

- I'm happy Dance In The Dark and Scheiße were not released as singles. Both are my favorite songs and I'd rather keep them to myself than the radio and the whole world.

 

- Sometimes I'd rather listen to the ARTPOP instrumentals because her vocals are too loud and pitchy. (Aura, Venus, Swine, Donatella, ARTPOP, Mary Jane Holland.

 

- Do What U Want is the best song on the album, no matter what fans say about the music video situation.

 

- Sometimes I feel awkward looking at what she wears, which looks stupid.

 

- She has yet to top Born This Way, the album.

-The Fame Monster is my favorite Gaga album, I think it is her finest work.

 

-Born This Way has some of her best tracks, including "Bloody Mary," "Heavy Metal Lover," "Electric Chapel," and "The Edge of Glory."

 

-I think the best tracks on ARTPOP are "Aura," "Venus," "Sexxx Dreams," "MANiCURE," and "ARTPOP."

 

-I don't understand why no one likes "Jewels N' Drugs." I love GangsterGa and while it is a goofy song lyrically, I think it's a great example at how Gaga can do different genres and expand her horizons.

 

-I watched SXSW again and really found the "Swine" performance to be innovative; I freaked out and had a meltdown at first, and while I still think it's gross, it was incredible to watch again and see the art behind it, but it's still gross.

 

-While SXSW was enjoyable to an extent, I didn't like how she was belligerent and way crazy; I understand the atmosphere of Austin and the "Keep Austin Weird" atmosphere she wanted to create, but I find her performing belligerently drunk to be borderline obnoxious and unprofessional. A few drinks before/during the show is one thing, but not to the point where your behavior is erratic.

 

-I think Swinefest is one of Gaga's finest performances. I wish I could find it in HQ to watch again.

 

-I'm kind of over the ARTPOP campaign. I feel it's pretty stale already. I am ready for the new visual that's coming out Saturday and the tour, but I'm also ready to move on from ARTPOP.

 

-I don't really want ARTPOP Act II. I feel as if Gaga's discography went as The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP, ARTPOP: Act II it would look silly.

Agreed. 

 

There's a lot of really awkward lyrics on the album... definitely Venus & Donatella make me feel uncomfortable when I listen to the words. I try to not really take her words seriously, she's not a real poet, imho. 

 

She definitely does a lot of outfits that I adore and think look totally incredible, and then a ton of other outfits that make me cringe and a wee bit embarrassed... 

 

And yes, BTW was her best album to date.

When you say you want her to step away from top 40, you mean you want her music to get more underground / less pop? I do too. I want to hear more of the vibe of Scheibe, Heavy Metal Lover, Mary Jane Holland... Less pop. More EDM.
