Emvee 7,885
Why do people always bust out the shipments argument when it comes to Gaga? Lol The point IS that Gaga was widely and WILDLY panned for "flopping " when her sales or shipments (regardless) are within the top 10 of the commercial market. Top 10 out of how many musicians in the world?
Optimus 298
The thing here is that it says SALES and not shipments. Shipments ARE sales. I have already explained that shipments are the copies that Interscope has sold to retailers and music stores. Thats why Gaga has said that they have sold 2.5M of ARTPOP. But the sales that matter are the ones that the retailers and music stores make. Stores and retailers have bought 2.5M copies of ARTPOP to sell the too. But as we can see they have sold only 1.7M so far
GagaMyBlood95 9,901
It says sales... If they thought these were shipments, they would have written shipments...
Quark 7,089
Exactly. Gaga is still pretty much one of the biggest artists in the world. Why do people always busy out the shipments argument when it comes to Gaga? Lol The point IS that Gaga has widely and WILDLY panned for "flopping " when her sales or shipments (regardless) are within the top 10 of the commercial market. Top 10 out of how :lmao:many musicians in the world?
Bye 3,947
It says sales... If they thought these were shipments, they would have written shipments... Tell him, and he calls me disturbed lol, wtf. IFPI knows more than him, if they were freakin' shipments they'd have written shipments. Period. ARTPOP.
VforVendetta 2,024
Read my editI really don't know what is the actual truth now tbh. Its not like its only for Gaga though anyway so we can consider these the sales for everyone like we always did I guess. Everyone was always looking these numbers for real sales so we won't change that now. (especially now that its in out favor for once )
Mr Josh 3
The company Vivendi released their report based on shimpents not long time ago IIRC. And ARTPOP was at 2.3M too. ARTPOP has sold 650-700k in USA and 1.1M WW(without USA). That is the real number- 1.7M WW They add 'sales' because thats the sales that the record company has made. I mean that shows how many ARTPOP copies the retailers and music store have bought from Interscope. After that the retailers and the music stores sell the album. The 1.7M are the sold copies from the retaiers and music stores to the end user Vivendi also clearly said sales.
Optimus 298
It says sales... If they thought these were shipments, they would have written shipments... IFPI's reports are based from the info that the labels provide. And for the label A sale= shipments.
Quark 7,089
I get what you are saying but why wouldn't they just say shipments? And how do you know ARTPOP has sold 1.7M? Shipments ARE sales. I have already explained that shipments are the copies that Interscope has sold to retailers and music stores. Thats why Gaga has said that they have sold 2.5M of ARTPOP. Bye 3,947
If everyone reports shipments who're we going to believe about actual sales? I say this is good enough. Everyone dragging ARTPOP's sales tbh...
Optimus 298
I get what you are saying but why wouldn't they just say shipments? And how do you know ARTPOP has sold 1.7M? Because they get their info from the labels. And for the labels a sale= shipments. Damn I'm saying this for the 3rd time already :lmao:

Since everyone is considering these the most trusted numbers for all the albums and not only Gaga's and not only now but also all the past years I think we should continue using these numbers. Its not like only ARTPOP had more sales. Everything goes a--logical.
