I still don't get why Gaga didn't want to perform Applause during that set and I can't remember what she said in the interview...

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

She said it was a joke in the interview among her crew and friends.. not that she disliked applause or anything

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

What was said above + over the order of having Gypsy close the show rather than Applause.

Was it a private performance? If so, they should of been able to select some material

Haroon

If she could perform 'Poker Face' and 'Bad Romance' at the Jingle Bell Ball, then I don't see how performing 'Alejandro' would've been outside the realms of possibility at SXSW

The song doesn't sound very good live and I think she is aware of that, that's why she didn't want to sing it

This account doesn't seem to match up with what Gaga said about the Frito Lay CEO meeting her backstage in tears telling her the performance was beautiful.

Different people. Two individual responses, neither representing an official corporate position. Also from two different times (before and after the show).

In the original review where we were told of the "Alejandro" remark, it was clearly identified as a single person's overheard comment. Here, Billboard has -- seemingly invalidly -- pluralized it to "Doritos executives were audibly disappointed with her set choices." There are, AFAIK, no actual other reports of disappointed executives, and even the guy who wanted Alejandro can't be said to be disappointed with the overall set, since (I'm pretty sure) he didn't know it at the time he said it, and hadn't seen the show.

All of which is more scrutiny than this non-issue deserves, but heck, the thread is already four pages long.

I don't think it has anything to do with that.

I think the song is nowhere near one of her biggest hits and, seeing as she's promoting a new record, there's no reason for her to perform Alejandro as opposed to any of the ARTPOP tracks or Bad Romance (one of her biggest hits)

We have forgotten our public MANNERS
