SKANK 14,288
They didn't spray paint "buy Applause on iTunes" on his headstone, they just placed a record inspired by Andy's philosophies on his grave. Why are people so scared to insult worm food? I went to Walt Whitman's mausoleum the other day and someone had left a collection of poems by Patti Smith leaning against it. It's the same thing. I always leave little offerings when I visit the dead, it's not disrespectful.
Ronk 14,511
I photographed Andy Warhol's grave in 2012: Item #6 here: http://gagadaily.com/index.php?/topic/88498-andy-warhol/?hl=%2Bandy+%2Bwarhol I see no problem with the addition of ARTPOP. I live outside the space time continuum.
Retep 0
This... What are we watching? A social experiment. Andy was huge with the idea that people loved watching mundane activities due to a perverse interest in being intrusive on everyday portions of life, he even has a video of him simply eating a burger until he's full . That was kind of his art, simply making fun of the public's interest in menial portions of peoples lives of the celebrity. Gurl you know that the art snobs will be all over this They shouldn't be considering a mass majority loathed Andy and his work while he was alive. A lot of people thought he cheapened the idea of art as a whole, especially since he didn't do a lot of the work himself. You can't enjoy Warhol's work and hate pop culture as it is now including the use of Gaga's CD, especially since Warhol was an architect of the modern celebrity. I don't see it as disrespectful at all, the Warhol Museum even encourages people to look at the grave and mentions people leaving mementos all the time. They even give the exact address to find it. Andy was engrossed in pop culture and that was what he thrived being apart of, he love the celebrity. I'm sure he would have no problem had he been alive, in fact he would've probably found humor in people watching a camera of his grave.

GagaStefi 1,231
It's disrespectful. I've seen a few people saying "it's a compliment" I'm sorry, how? It's not like Warhol rose from the grave and put it there himself. A Gaga fan would've done it, most likely. People are using the excuse that Gaga wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him/he basically gave us ARTPOP etc, but who's to say he would've liked her? Many assumes he would, but no one can confirm it. Imagine if he didn't
Juanjo 1,973
I don't think there's anything wrong with this, as I see other things at his grave. I hope whoever placed it there, did it with a good intent.
Chucky 39
I don't see that big a deal about it to begin with tbh.....
Pablo 7,504
How exactly is this disrespectful? There are Campbell's soup cans on there which were his work. Putting an ARTPOP copy could symbolize how much impact he had in the world since ARTPOP exists because of him. I don't see the harm I agree with this statement Don't visit my profile
lastlinefirst 1
People put stuff at graves all the time, it's not like they painted graffiti on it or destroyed it.

Battle 4 Ur Life 6,461
It's a bit abusive imo...unnecessary and stuff like that just stains the fanbase image even more than already is but for a second I though it was going to be the beginning of ARTPOP 2.0 and freaked out. but I don't really think she would do that Smash With a Smile
vespertine 3
but ARTPOP needs the promo. Inb4 Gaga did it herself
aaronyoji 2,007
they put it there in the same place where others would place items, i mean its next to a soup can, i dont get how its disrespectful. someone shouldve put the perrier warhol bottles there too, to show how is work is now considered iconic and has opened the gate to ARTPOP, with the art now being on the soup can. i mean, if it was maikeeb or something that did it, i could imagine how opportunistic and lame it'd be, screaming "yaaaas buy ARTPOP on itunes" at the site of warhols grave, but other than that i mean theres an earth cam for his grave, warhol was obsessed with celebrity surveillance, that celeb culture,
