It's a beautiful picture, and it'd make a phenomenal cover - but I don't think it really reflects ARTPOP.

This.

This photo is actually one of my favorite things she's made this era. (And that I+V made, of course.) It's so beautiful and draws you silently in, like the Girl with a Pearl Earring. I agree that it doesn't quite fit the album we got, but I feel it does fit the album that we SHOULD have gotten. The actual cover, like the actual album, is sprawling all over the place and trying too hard to be something it's not, to impress people whose opinions don't really matter in the first place (i.e. using an institutionalized artist like Koons to prove that Gaga also should be considered legitimate). But this cover is simple on the surface yet you can see her eyes are filled with complex emotions on the inside, and that's what the album should've been like. Solid and sparse pop tunes with held back emotion in every word would've been so perfect. Since this was the first thing I saw from the ARTPOP era, I thought that the transparency in the visor would represent the transparency that we would see from Gaga this era, being able to see behind the curtain and all of the struggle the world doesn't see. But we didn't get that, and instead we just got a thin veneer of false joy plastered over real betrayal and depression. Even if we all disagree on how much we like or don't like the music on this album, I do think that most can agree that most songs on the album are not accurate portrayals of how she actually felt while writing the album. Dope is the most honest song on the album. It's not my favorite, but it's honest.

nah, it's a good pic but it's boring compared to the real cover, I actually don't have anything against the ARTPOP cover, it's perfect

My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

And what exactly is that? (not being shady, just curious)

Difficult to explain really, I could explain it before Gaga added dozens of other concepts. ARTPOP is like, freedom to express yourself in unconventional ways, and that anything can go together if there's heart and soul behind it... It means a few different things to me, but yeah.

YES. I hate the real cover. It looks like she had some intern put it together on MS Paint.

Gaga is Life

I like the actual cover better :spin: But I wouldn't have minded too much if that were the cover :)

Not after the one we have, I think the statement with the Koons sculpture and everything fits the goal of ARTPOP way more, but would I have minded it? No, I quite like it, I think it looks more modern and kinda represents the bright, clean aesthetic ARTPOP puts off in some ways or at least was supposed to in the beginning. ItIt says a lot more with less I guess, Gaga = the vessel for the art, creation, etc. end of, but I don't think the original cover is bad either, since it does have its meaning.

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

Imagine holding it on vinyl. I'd die.

Edit: Wait, I changed my mind. This cover doesn't fit the music at all :spin: This could be the cover for the art-infused alternative pop album that she'll probably never make.

You've read my mind...the change of mind process included

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

I wouldn't mind it if it were because it's a striking picture and a nice contrast from BTW. I loved the actual cover for a moment, but the more I looked at it... the less and less I liked it.

I use this one for iTunes, though:

:legend: I have not seen a truer statement on this site than this one tbh
