Haus 152
It's not even past 700k in the US, there's not a chance in hell she's done over 3x that worldwide she's not Lana Del Rey. These are shipments.

TropicOfCANCER 6,292
i'm personally choosing to believe this is shipments. there's no way it sold that much, sorry.
BLACKOUTbritney 22,356
Huh. Doubt it, to be honest. She's sold ~1,2M in 2013 according to MediaTraffic, it can't be THAT far off! Like, it's impossible to me to have 20% of your sales come from the US when the only hit from your album was a hit local to the US Perhaps it's shipments. It's actually sold 1.8 - 1.9 million worldwide.
IvanMonster 0
I don't know. I'm doubting that would be shipments because it seems like that wouldn't make any sense. First of all, why would stores that sell CDs be buying up over a million extra copies of ARTPOP to sell if it wasnt selling good (based on pre orders) in the first place. Also, most big box stores that sell cds like walmart, target, best buy are not selling cds much anymore. most sales come from itunes, or other downloadable music apps. you're telling me that these companies bought that many cds to sell in their stores? there are 1200 Walmarts, 400 targets, and 200 best buys in the entire world. do the math. 1200+400+200+ 100(for any other stores that might sell cds still)= 1900 your math says there are over 1 million shipments unpurchased, plus the roughly 500k that were purchased. thats 1.5 mill 1.5mil hard copies divided by 1900 Worlwide stores that sell CDs= That would mean each store would have had to buy (on average) 790 copies of ARTPOP to sell in their store. I'm sorry, no store, even big box, even when hard copies of CDs were still popular, were buying 789 copies of an album to sell in their store, especially now when CDs aren't as popular, and their marketing people knew that Gaga's sales wouldn't be on the uprise. sorry and for the record, when I went to walmart only a week after ARTPOP came out they only had like 30 copies available. iMonster 1,037
Can we at least all agree that before a new order is placed the 2.3 Million will have to be taken care of first (partially, at least). So even if these are just shipments for now, eventually they will be sales. . . =)
ChrisX 0
They're shipments. ARTPOP is far from reaching that number where do all these sales come from? Certifications/official numbers: Argentina (CAPIF)[193] Gold 20,000x Austria (IFPI Austria)[194] Gold 10,000x Brazil (ABPD)[195] Platinum 40,000* Canada (Music Canada)[123] Platinum 80,000^ Colombia (ASINCOL)[196] Gold 5,000 Finland (Musiikkituottajat)[197] Gold 10,000[198] France 60,000[130]* Hungary (Mahasz)[199] Gold 1,000x Italy (FIMI)[200] Gold 30,000* Japan (RIAJ)[201] Platinum 133,340[187] Mexico (AMPROFON)[202] Platinum 60,000^ Poland (ZPAV)[203] Gold 10,000* South Korea (Gaon) 3,856[189] Spain (PROMUSICAE)[204] Gold 7,959[205] Sweden (GLF)[206] Gold 20,000^ Switzerland (IFPI Switzerland)[207] Gold 15,000x United Kingdom (BPI)[208] Gold 172,873[128]^ United States 618,000[121]^ That's a total of 1,3M sales. No way ARTPOP sold another 1M non-certified Those data sales were from a month and half ago. US is at 680,000 already, Mexico and UK are way higher already. lmao. all of this needs to be updated. That J 12,166
ARTPOP has sold fine considering having only one video and one top ten single. The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

That J 12,166
And considering Gaga is no longer popular Lol right. It's funny to me how much over a--lyzing takes place here. The album is a lot of fun, it's selling well, the tour is selling well. There's been questionable things with this era, it's not been very smooth and hopefully that's about to be corrected...but things aren't going as bad as some worry it is. I think the tour is where it's at. That's gonna be the pinnacle of this era. Overall, sales are decent. This fan can't complain.
