It's 2014...... I don't really care anymore tbh

u don't have to :)

yes, she just recreated her bad habits with Venus... it didn't help DWUW's success, nor Venus' - even Dope had higher peak, like wtf :smh:

Thinking about this :toofunny:

i love the way gaga decide to make TEOG video like this. It is just proven how she loves the song more than the sell itself. She made the video become so personal. And i feel blessed for this than if she became a mermaid. It will ruin the song aura.

I don't think it went to #1 because the attention was split between 'Judas' and 'Hair', which were released around the same period of time  I think the video could've pushed it up a bit too  I think it would've done pretty well as a second single, coming off of the success of 'Born This Way' the song - but I guess we'll never know

since Born This Way, she's become the Master of Promotional Mess... I wonder if she's planning on changing that anytime soon

I feel like she has a million ideas for a project, she needs somebody to 'limit' her and tell her sometimes "no, that's too much" or "no, it's too late to change it, we've already prepared it"

- It peaked in sales earlier than on radio: sales peak in May + radio peak in August.

- The video didn't help much.

yup, this!

- Judas

- rushed

- bad promo

- bad video

- bad choreo

TEOG is such a powerful song, but they destroyed it momentum... Similar to DWUW.

Imagine Gaga staying on the edge of a HUGE ROCK in the middle of the OCEAN, the wind blowing her huge dress and hair, and in the end of the video Gaga jumps in the OCEAN ...

I MEAN THE POSSIBILITIES :nooo:   The most epic song with the most unepic video :emo:

That was my dream video :udidnt: her on a rock with the sea crashing into it :legend:

It was never a good single choice.

The promo was bad.

The video (although simple and beautiful IMO) did not meet people's expectations of what a Gaga MV should be like.

The abrupt release of Judas and how it was dropped off so quickly afterwards have already killed, err at least weakened, any momentum for the follow-up single. In addition to that, the release of Hair a week after TEOG greatly contributed on why TEOG suffered a very early digital sales peak (its debut was actually its peak). Have it been properly presented as the official third single without any hesitation, it would have gotten a better peak. And instead of a music video which could have gone viral for additional promotion (and sales), we got an unexciting one.

TEOG still remains as her last top three hit in the Billboard HOT 100 chart along with the other major music markets such as Australia and Germany. That alone pretty much solidifies that it's actually a good single choice, if not her best all throughout the entire BTW era. Have it not been for TEOG, the interest over BTW as a whole worldwide would have died down way earlier.
