Shadow 6,632
My mom and dad haven't paid for my things in years, but I still wouldn't sell out one of my joys and freedoms in life for $200k. Maybe...if it was millions...then I could make the personal sacrifice and then use that money to help others. I'd be really tempted then. Sell out? Guess there's no room to branch out when you found the joy of your life... Lady Gaga, a pop artist, one out of hundreds of artists and other experiences you'd be selling out by opportunity cost. It's just a wonder why some limit themselves as if it would hurt them to experience all life has to offer in our short time on this planet. Time goes by faster than the wind every day. And 200k would go a long way if you'd be looking to help others. Anyways, everyone has their life to live. Do your own research.

I listen to tons of music and I'm a fan of many artists. It just happens that Gaga is my fav. My fav food is chocolate. I wouldn't give up chocolate for life for $200k either. Money only solves the basic problems of food and shelter and what not. But what makes life really worth all the fuss is the experiences! If I was starving to death and couldn't afford even food and shelter, then maybe I'd lower my price for giving up something I love.

Ladle Ghoulash 24,934
Great answer. There's ton's of great albums a year, you'd get over it within a year tbh. You're not thinking this through properly..ย just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they're not "thinking it through properly" ย music means a lot to people and Gaga has had a tremendous impact on a lot of her fans (myself included) and changed some of their lives. I think by saying that they're not thinking it through properly because you want them to give up someone or something that is a huge inspiration to them means that you don't understand the true value of inspiration or art. I guess but I do feel like 1 artists music isn't worth saying no to 200k. Other than finding some inspiration and finding pleasure in a song it doesn't provide much else. Nothing you can't find elsewhere, especially with the amount of music coming out daily.ย ย Half the people on this forum won't be stanning Gaga as hard a couple years from now, they may still love her but her music won't be as important to them when they have serious relationships, full time jobs, a family to support, etc..If they said no and look back at that age I guarantee you they would feel like they didn't think it through properly.ย ย You could do so much with 200k maybe everyone on this site is rich but c'mon. LaLuna 12,732
I don't know. I mean, I know I can live without listening to Gaga, after all I made it to 2008 without Gaga in my life, and 200K would give me the chance to pay off my student loans, credit card, make a downpayment on a house, etc., and I could also travel which i've been meaning to do for a long time. Plus, I may be a Gaga fan now but it might not last forever... ย Of course there are many other artists I enjoy, but Gaga has brought me so much joy and inspiration, I feel like my life would be missing something without her music

Guess when you have mom and dad paying for things, money doesn't seem important while money earned by someone else paid for everything they enjoyed up to this point, including Gaga. I'm sure many members saying no are already financially independent... $200k, while making life easier, is just $200k. What's the point in money, in life, even, if you can't enjoy the things you love? :P I can understand how if people are struggling to make ends meet, that could really help. But if they're going to give up something they love to be comfortable, then it almost seems paradoxical imo.

Brucie 11
As someone who has $12 in my bank account while working full time and not even being able to afford gaga tickets, 200k really is not a lot of money. Especially considering this -ย Over 78 years, the average American spends an average of about $1.6 million dollars just to survive.
