ARTPOP was the perfect song choice

your response has nothing to do with the fact that you said she is not doing anything. She is doing a lot. End of.

My point was that she is not performing her art at all. If you take the time to read the whole post then you will notice it.

and calm down, you act like a child.

I don't act like a child. I'm just sick of so many people here bashing Gaga and saying she doesn't care. This is a goddamn fan forum for ****s sake.

And I think she is performing it. We have had countless performances in the past 6 months. Yes, there was a blackout for inner circle reasons, but clearly that's fine now.

When you think about it, there are only like 4 songs from the album that she hasn't performed yet out of 15. That's a lot. I doubt other stars perform that much of their album without it being on tour. That's why I think she has performed her art quite a bit with an exception to the past 2 months. And even in that time she has been planning big things to show her art.

Yeah but we can't deny that she has been in a music blackout since december, and we don't know any of the causes of the blackout.

and I'm not bashing her or her team, it's just criticism and is necessary sometimes.

Yeah and the silence sucks but maybe it's for the best that we don't know or that Gaga tunes us out for a bit. I especially hate when she is so quiet because it makes me worry about her. But with the video project she was just filming, this, and the Roseland shows coming up I feel like things will get back to normal in due time :)

blahblahblahhhh

Stopped reading after the third sentence...

To bring some :tea:...The TRUE beginning for us was the rebirth of an album era where better singles were chosen and promo was fitting for such singles...However, Gaga chose to the opposite from what the fans wanted

She always does though.

:smh:

Oh well.

I thought the performance was fantastic!!! a few things:

1) did you see how small the stage was? How big of theatrics could you expect in such a space? I thought the design was great. Really cool piano. Only critique is Gaga got lost in the fog sometimes but whatever.

2) I don't see why people hate the song ARTPOP so much? I was seriously getting chills throughout the performance. I will never forget the first time i heard "WEE COUUULD, WEE COUUULD BELONG TOOGETHAA" im pretty sure I teared up a little. And honestly the boop boop boop instrumental is my favorite gaga instrumental ever. Granted, some of the lyrics are weak, but not every song can be perfect.

3) SHE SOUNDED AMAZING. I could totally hear her channeling Elton John. The band was great too! I love that she has been using a band a lot with this album.

4) That look y'all. Her hair. Flawless.

be grateful. open your eyes, that was a beautiful performance. There is no other song I would have rather heard. Now, if I had been her I probably would not have picked that song, but I am SO glad she did!

I'll say what I said before...

you's would have all lost your **** if she performed GUY 2 months before she dropped the video, and didn't promote it again for another 3 weeks.

the curse of little managers returns.

Yes, we do. Gaga has been upfront and honest and shared as much as is professionally responsible.

Since The Voice performance, Gaga was in a state of depression for a few weeks. She was also dealing with a major restructuring of her management team at the time, a lawsuit and some behind the scenes issues with the DWUW video.

Once Gaga moved past all that, she started planning for her third single, which included a MAJOR video project, and also planning for her upcoming shows in NY and her upcoming world tour. She's also been to several events to support friends and business associates during that time and had at least a couple of interviews and photo shoots with major publications. She also took a trip to support Britney and record a song or two with her, performed at the Carole King Tribute, and prepared for her performance on Fallon tonight. Gaga has been busy planning, working on projects, out and about at different events and she has communicated what she could or needed to with fans.

We still don't know anything.

"Dealing with a major restructuring of her management team at the time" We only know that the ones that didn't believe in ARTPOP are gone.

She has lawsuit all the time.

"some behind the scenes issues with the DWUW video" we only know that it wasn't working as she wanted but that's it, we don't know if it is finished or not.

At the end of the day we know NOTHING. It was a blackout.

I'm going to say this again...since when was it a bad thing to say you want Gaga to promote her singles or that you want them to do well? :wtfga: People saying "I don't care about the charts" or "You're all about marketing her product and not in it for the music" are NOT better or higher forms of fans, cuz they feel that way...:smh:

Let's not forget this is still a music industry business and she's a pop star...marketing her music will ALWAYS be a part of her career...this doesn't make the "meaning or appreciation" of the music any more or less :tea:

I don't think she is a popstar at all. I don't care about the charts. and I love this era and maybe all of you would too

Because this is the rebirth of the ARTPOP "era"/album cycle. The true beginning. Gaga's said how she believes people can be reborn countless times, and its always been a theme in her work (the original Monsterball theme, the vessel, the Born This Way video, parts of the Born This Way Ball, the Birth of Venus references)...

And the lyrics are perfect for this time in her career.

"Free my mind, ARTPOP"

obviously a lot has been going on in her mind lately. She's been depressed, she came back from the press turning against her and had a hit single only for her fans to turn against her. She needs to clear her mind and have a fresh start.

"In all your glamour and cruelty"

again glamour would represent the fame, the performances, the art, and cruelty is the press and her "fans".

"Sometimes the simplest move is right

The melody that you choose

Can rescue you"

I feel like those really speak for themselves.

again, Gaga isn't just doing things for attention (Miley Cyrus) or sales (Katy Perry). She's putting out what she wants. Do What U Want could've been a top 10 hit, it sold a million copies. If she put out the video and did another performance or 2 and pushed the remixes on radio and iTunes it would've been massive. But she didn't want to put something out that wasn't her best work or her artistic vision

"Could try to sell you out or I

Could show you all the reasons why

My ARTPOP could mean anything"

"Brushes with darkness won't help you create your destiny of self

But ARTPOP could mean anything... anything!

I try to sell myself but I am really laughing

Because I just love the music, not the bling

Music, not the bling"

Brushes with darkness won't help you create your destiny. Destiny could refer to her career and brushes with darkness could refer to selling out. Basically, true artists like MJ or Madonna didn't sellout and instead put out great music and visuals that paved their career. She tries to sell herself, she sometimes does act as a mainstream artist, but really this is all satirical and a joke she's in on because really she just needs this big budget to promote her art to the masses.

Beyoncé had a massive 2013. She played the Superbowl, her perfumes were hits, she continued to promote numerous products and do massive ad campaigns with Pepsi and H&M, she soldout a worldwide arena tour, and then surprised us with an album. She didn't have a hit single. She just put out her best work and did some amazing performances.

Gaga will have a single, but I don't think that needs to be her focus. Maybe the album sales aren't amazing right now, but look at how good the tour is doing. In most cities, all the good seats are gone. I bought my Seattle tickets back in December but when I tried to get tickets in San Antonio I could only find seats in the back. All the shows are doing really well.

Gaga didn't go on TV to promote her new single. She went to perform and promote herself. They talked about her album, her tour. She wasn't just shoving a song down our throats. Relax guys. She's in the Louvre right now, she's going to be on Barbra Streisand's album...like she's a living legend!! She just shot the biggest video of her career and based off of what we know it could be her best yet. Who else shoots at Hearst F*cking Castle!!?

She doesn't need to slay any chart. She's putting out some of her best work. Just be happy, because did you guys see how unhappy she was at the end of the year? Recently I broke down crying watching her old Oprah special because she tries so hard for us and you guys just b---h and moan.

Thank you.
