MikeyMoonShine 0
I'm the same - most indie music just doesn't do it for me, with very few exceptions. So many of them can't sing, their beats are tired and boring, their songs are not groundbreaking. And a lot of people seem to think indie music is superior just because it's indie and "real." It's not surprising why a lot of them aren't getting signed to major labels - because some of them just aren't good enough. Then again, I tend to see more bad indie artists hitting it big as opposed to good ones. After hearing some of what she's capable of, it seems she deliberately sings in a different way for effect, it's perhaps not her natural voice. As far as I can hear, Vulnicura involves her practically talking rather than singing. Very slow, methodical delivery and drawing out and spitting words. I don't remember hearing anything on there that was like AIFOL. I've started listening to Post and it's a joy to hear her singing properly. She should sing at that level more often. I like Joga a lot better than Stonemilker. Although I think the instrumental is still the best part of the song. I like how she actually keeps a rhythm going with her singing here and is properly singing with some nice little trills at the end. I could find her work a lot easier to take if she took this route more. I know what you mean in regards to Biophilia - it seemed like it was trying to be educational, and I'd prefer personal. I'm halfway through Post and you'll be pleased to hear that I'm pleasantly surprised, although we're talking passable at the moment. I really liked Army Of Me - best Bjork track I've heard thus far. I like how she's singing normally and her enunciation is actually clear. If she could do that back then, I don't see why she can't do it now. My problem with Indie music (which is an odd thing to say as I like a lot of indie music, I just often dislike the most popular indie music) is that much of it is a generic musically as pop music yet it's touted by fans as better. Gaga is as creative lyrically and musically as many indie artists but she get's criticized for being generic just because she uses more pop style production and themes like songs about wealth, pop culture references, using the word baby a lot ect. Some indie stars don't make it big simply because they are not mainstream sounding enough but I would agree that many are not as talented as their fans seem to think and that's why they don't make it big. You can have mainstream success and be non mainstream pop after all, Bjork did it and so have many others. Hmm talksinging, idk I wouldn't say Bjork does that more than some other artists I know of, I guess that's more a matter of tempo though. I can see how it could be a stylistic problem for you, I was never bothered by such things so to me I see little difference other than the speed of her singing. Yeah, Biophilia was literally an education project designed to teach kids about making music, I guess she picked the science angle because of this. Yeah, a lot of Bjork fans rate Army Of Me very highly. probably my third favorite on Post after Hyperballad and Possibly Maybe. xx The Homogenic green is so ugly though.. like for Homogenic I was thinking blue, silver, or dark green but LIME?! Yeah idk why she didn't make that one a ice blue to match the cover. I also think Biophilia should have been orange or black.

Yeah, a lot of Bjork fans rate Army Of Me very highly. probably my third favorite on Post after Hyperballad and Possibly Maybe. xx Yes, exactly, I've seen indie music that is just as generic as the popular songs of the moment. Because acoustic guitar playing balladeers are common in the indie scene and that type of music is popular right now, the indie version will sound just as generic. The only indie-mainstream person like this I make an exception for is Passenger because his lyrics hit me a lot harder than other artists like him. Indeed, Gaga is very experimental for a mainstream artist and is more experimental than some indie acts, yet she's called nothing special just because she hit it big. So annoying. I've talked about my problems with talk-singing before with the explosion of Lorde and how I prefer actual singing. It's fine once in a while but for a whole album? I find that very difficult to take. I listen to vocalists to hear singing, not talking accompanied to a beat. I thought Post was decent. I liked Army Of Me, Hyperballad, Enjoy, You've Been Flirting Again, Possibly Maybe, I Miss You, Cover Me, Headphones and bonus track Charlene. None of them were absolutely outstanding to me, but decent. And I just listened to Debut today and liked Crying, There's More To Life Than This, Like Someone In Love, One Day, Come To Me, Violently Happy and bonus track Play Dead. Again, not anything outstanding, but decent. Preferred Post, though. So, we're off to a good start.

Shu Rin 64
I can't get enough of all is full of love The song is perfection Agree, Its definitely one of her masterpieces in her discography. The Biophilia Version is my favorite. The choir, the pipe organ, and the gameleste make it sound even more hauntingly beautiful to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXRKCGi4tto The Earth remembers, the stones remember. If you know how to listen, they will tell you many things.
MikeyMoonShine 0
I can never decide which version of All Is Full Of Love I like best. I used to prefer the single version (original mix) and wish that had been on the album but I have really gotten into the album version lately, it's really beautiful and more focused on her pure vocals. I think I kinda like them both equally now.
