Stefani328 321
There is a huge difference between Gaga and Miley and their antics, Gaga can back up her antics with talent. Miley is doing everything Gaga already did in 2009/2010, except Gaga did it better.
kizurl 1,801
no, she's just hoarding for fame and attention. gaga however takes risks and dedicates her life to her art.
ARTPOPtarts 0
I think she is lashing out at the comparisons of "Miley, are you the next Gaga/Madonna/Britney?" She's been very clear this entire era that she wants to pave her own lane, but as you guys can see, she's been boxed in. I can not say she doesn't deserve some of the flack she's gotten because obviously she has drawn creatively from those before her. In her defense, some of the best art in the world draws from what those before created (not saying Bangerz is anywhere near the best artistic statement in the world). I think her Gaga comment comes from a point of "Hey! If you're gonna call me out for taking artistic inspiration, you need to call her (Gaga) out as well." Why this comment is kind of self-defeating though is because Gaga is PURPOSELY trying to show that she has drawn from those before her. The whole "Reverse-Warholian" theme is taking classical art and flipping it on its a** so that the artist (Gaga in this case) is the canvas. Miley is not trying to "reverse-Warhol", at least from what I've seen. Hopefully, the media allows her to go in her own lane so she stops trying to drag Gaga down with her. Gaga references her inspirations.... Miley doesn't. This whole "media is trying to pit Miley against Gaga" argument is not convincing enough to defend her. How many times has Gaga been called a "madonna rip off" early in her career? Did Gaga once try to call Madonna a rip off of other artists/icons before her? No. So yeah very weak argument. Miley needs to learn how to take the media fire like Gaga has for so many years
MikeyMoonShine 0
Well she's obviously following Gaga's lead more than she would admit but Gaga wasn't the first to do all that I guess.

La Primavera 13
Well she's obviously following Gaga's lead more than she would admit but Gaga wasn't the first to do all that I guess. True, but Gaga says by who was she inspired and Miley claims she's the original b---h and if someone says she did what someone else did before her she will drag u to hell and back. There's a difference.

Miley needs to learn how to take the media fire like Gaga has for so many years I wasn't trying to state that Miley lashing out was valid: I was attempting to point out that I think she was using Gaga as a defense mechanism. Gaga has taken way more of that kind of Scheiße from the media than any other popstar out there! Sadly, she is still the victim of this kind of treatment by the press. I think Miley is facing a similar situation to Xtina-Bionic, where there are obvious similarities to what other pop acts are doing. Xtina actually had very similar situation and it happened against Gaga as well. The press pitted them against each other. But Xtina and Miley (unlike Gaga) don't have the vision nor the guts to say who their work is honoring. I understand your point, it is VERY valid, but I just can't help but see Miley's shade as a bitter "I want my own lane" statement.
