You would be amazed how much weight you can put on in a week... and Gaga tends to starve herself right before her videos so she could look maximally thin. I'm sure she just dehydrated herself and ate very little before filming and after filming went by to eat as much as she normally does and put the weight back on.

There are 3500 calories in a pound. Even if Gaga ate like 500 calories per day and burned 2000 calories daily for a week and a half, she would only lose 4 1/2 pounds. This would be a very extreme diet and I don't think the people around her would allow her to put herself through that.  Even so, there is way more than a 4 1/2 pound discrepancy between the way Gaga looks in the video and how she looked a week and a half before the filming and a week and a half after. She looks healthy and good in the concert videos from around that time and emaciated in the video.

She was bulimic back then too.... and I'm sure she was still working out. And we also did not know what she looked like before she filmed the music video and she was really thin before and after filming Telephone.... But maybe who knows
