Is Gaga having financial problems?

She twitted something about money can run out but not talent recently.

I don't think she was talking about herself. More like, she was trying to encourage her fans to pursue something other than money; to have higher aspirations. She's always wanting us to be artists, basically, and this was another comment along those lines.

Yeah I mean alot of artists have their biggest tours in their second and third decades. U2 has massive numbers. I mean her first decade! But also despite her big tours there are MANY events that count in between like SwineFest that count as touring dollars. So that seats her at nearly $500 million. Since her first tour started in 2009, she has by 2019 to achieve the billion mark. Being that this year is her sixth year and ArtRave will likely seat her around $650million-$750million depending on the length and success of the tour, all she has to do really is tour once more in the next four years and do a few in between events. And considering her record, its likely she will tour twice after ArtRave by 2019, sitting her past the billion mark comfortably. No one has ever done that in their first career decade. No one. And because Katy Perry is in her seventh career year (technically 14th if you count her Christian album lol), Katy would have to have Prism Tour do bigger than a Madonna tour and then tour after twice again....in a 2 year period. Katy won't achieve it. Beyonce already didn't achieve this. And Miley Cyrus can't beat Gaga on this because she was touring as Hannah Montana and a country artist before she became so pop. Britney is the only person who came close to doing this but reached about $900million in her first decade. If Britney hadn't taken a hiatus in the mid 2000s she would have been the first likely. If Gaga stays consistent though at least at the level she is now, she will get past the billion mark. And if ARTPOP has any longevity to it it will only help sales drive through the roof more. The fact of the matter is, people know they are gonna get the Gaga classics at the tour and they know they are going to be shocked and awed at her show. So even non-fans go see Gaga because they know she is pretty much the young touring queen right now.

I completely agree that Gaga is doing great, though with artRave I think it's more likely her gross will fall in the $100-150 mill bracket, though with extended dates this could go higher. Overall she'd need to release more material or at least promote more to get her total gross over the $600 mill mark with just this tour.

I'm not sure where you're getting Britney's gross numbers from - Gaga has outgrossed Britney tourwise already even including Britney's future Vegas dates and excluding artRave's!

Britney:

2 x Baby One More Time tours ('98-99) - <10M

Oops tour ('00) - $40.5M

Dream Within A Dream Tour ('01- '02) -  $44M

Onyx Hotel Tour ('04) - $34

M&Ms Tour ('07) - $300K  :toofunny:

Circus Tour ('09) - $132M

Total first decade gross: $261M

+After first decade: Femme Fatale Tour ('11) - $69M

Lifetime Gross = $330M

(excluding her Vegas ('13-'15) shows that are banking ~$620K/night x 96 shows = ~$59.5M giving lifetime gross of $400M over 17 years)

I remember her saying during The Fame Ball Tour that she had gone bankrupt four times, but I haven't heard her mention if since. But I seriously doubt she's had any financial problems since, especially since, if I remember correctly, she herself earned $90,000,000 from The Monster Ball. I think that alone would have held her through now and beyond, and then you have her revenue from The Born This Way Ball, the FAME fragrance, and album and single sales, among other things, to add on top of that.

Don't forget those contracts she has with all those tech companies and POPWater!

....and Joanne's.  :toofunny:
